We are going to stay at the AKL the last two days of our trip. We are thinking about staying CL so we can do the Sunrise Safari. I've read the other posts and can't find these answer. Please Help!!

We are concerned that we can't be guaranteed a savannah view. Has anyone ever gotten a CL - pool view and been disappointed?

Are the CL rooms deluxe rooms? Can you have 5 people in the room?

Is the safari fun? What is so great about it???

Thanks so much!!

Hi Joy!
AKL Concierge is one of the best on property. You will love the resort and the CL Lounge is very nice and relaxing.
The CL rooms are all Deluxe (sleep 5) or suites. Technically, you are not guaranteed a savannah view room, but there are very few pool view CL rooms and they are smoking-optional. What I do is make my #1 request "non-smoking room" and my #2 request "Savannah view room" and my #3 request "Arusha Savannah view" - this is the "main" and, IMO, most impressive savanna (as well as the only savannah with zebra).
The Sunrise Safari is quite a treat. You wake up early, board a bus and get a behind-the-scenes tour of the AK park and the safari ride area. It is educational and fun and very interesting. You end the experience with a decadent buffet breakfast with an incredible assortment of dishes.
If you are thinking about it - DO IT!! You won't be sorry!

I ditto everything johnsonet said!
We've done the Sunrise Safari twice now (as well as the Sunset Safari - also offered to CL guests) and have NOT been dissappointed at either.

We've stayed AKL concierge 3 or 4 times now...always received a savannah (Arusha) view.

Even if you do get a pool view - it's a gorgeous resort and there are PLENTY of animal viewing ops.

We stay in June on the CL level and we had a standard room with two double beds. We did get a savanah view however. You will love the CL and sunrise safari.

i double ditto what johnsonet said - we did the sunrise safari in May and its great! breakfast is unbelievable, too -

were you on the 5th or 6th floor?
All rooms on the 5th floor facing the savannah are "deluxe" rooms...meaning...they are a bit bigger then those on lower floors. (not entirely sure about 5th floor facing the pool though)

you can tell by looking out your balcony - the 5th floor balconies stick out further then the lower floors - rooms are bigger.

we've had 3 different types of rooms when staying AKL CL - king with day bed, 2 queens (deluxe resorts do not have "double/full" beds - they are queens), and queen with bunk beds

schwenksvillemouse I have never traveled w/ 5 in my party and have been given AKL Concierge rooms w/ 2 queen beds only - never a day bed. The rooms were "Deluxe" b/c they were A) on the 5th floor and B) had the 40-odd extra square feet and extra chair that the deluxe rooms have. I once requested a bunk bed room for my DD's sake, but the concierge planner told me I would probably not get one as they reserve these for families that have 2+ children;

facing the Arusha rock savanah. The room was great and it has two double beds. Someone above mentioned they are deluxe because they sleep five. This room was not set up to sleep five unless you rolled a cot in it. I honestly didn't look to see if our balancy was out further than other floors. We did have a small table and chairs in the room and a other lounge chair.

I called Disney this morning and the woman at Disney said you could get a room with a queen bed, bunk beds and a day bed on the concierge level. I didn't ask which floor it was on, but she said they would only guarantee this room if you had 5 people in your party.

Has anyone else heard of this?

Thanks again for the advice so far. I think we are going to do it!!!

The 3 times we've stayed at AKL (2 on CL), we've had a queen, bunk, and a daybed and we have 2adults/2kids. I was under the impression that deluxe rooms all came with the extra daybed.

If you have 5 people listed on your reservation you will get a deluxe room that sleeps 5, if not you can request one but it is not guaranteed.

I have stayed Concierge at AKL twice and both times I was traveling with 2 adults and my daughter. Total of 4 people in the room. Both times we had Deluxe rooms with 2 queen beds. No daybed.
