AKL closing time and Dinner...

We will be at Animal Kingdom on September 26th with 5 kids. We usually eat dinner pretty early. We have a 11am Tuscar house reservation and Im wanting to try out the new Harambe Market eating area for QS dinner. I was thinking of Finding Nemo at 4pm. With the park closing at 5, how long do they give you to "Get Out". I don't want to be "Those PPL" that won't get the heck out but I was thinking they probably give a little time after "closing". Could we still eat in the park our should we just do dinner back at the hotel? TIA

Interesting question. More so because you are wanting to dine so late in the day at a new location. In my past experience when I worked at HS, the kitchens would remain open until park close for those restaurants called out in the times guides. I don't know what the new dining times are for this new area. You should not have any problems however lingering as you desire once 5pm rolls around. They just start slowly ushering folks out. The park may not actually clear until 6 or 630 depending on the number of people and where they were at.

Your other option would be to swap if you can get a reservation. Do lunch in Harambe and dinner at Tusker.

We love Tuscar house around that time because we can eat from the breakfast and lunch options, lol. Our reservation is actually at 10:45am. I did think about looking for a dinner time at Tuscar and it searched from 4-5pm. (with no availability) Im thinking if they take 5pm reservations wed be fine eating QS after Nemo. Ill check the times for the Harambe Market maybe that will help. Thanks for your reply.

I see that listed on the daily events on the Disney site for Sept 26.
I wonder if it's accurate.

Regardless, that show would end at 5:30PM and it would take guests exiting that show (on average) about 15 minutes more to get to the park exit.

There are no times showing yet for Harambe Market in September, but currently it is open until park closing. You can check online when it gets closer to Sept 26 and the operating times will probably be listed in the Weekly Times Guide you can pick up at the entrance to AK.

I've seen Nemo listed as anywhere from 30-40 minutes on various sites so you'll need to exit quickly and head to Harambe Market which is on the other side of the park. Although there will be plenty of guests exiting AK after 5 PM restaurants often stop serving at closing, but as long as you are in the ordering line by 5 PM you will be able to sit and enjoy your meal. Once you are done you will be directed towards the front of the park.
