AKL buses

I have a stupid question.

Does AKL have its own buses? I've been hearing so many nightmare stories about 2-hour bus rides, so I'm wondering if AKL has the same issues.

AKL has great transportation. Buses run approx every 15 minutes, and it's a 5 minute ride to AK, 15 to MK, 10 to Epcot, and 10 to Studios (with stop at BB, 15). DTD is the furthest away, and can take 15-20 mins, depending on Marketplace or PI.

I've read conflicting reports on this board re: buses from AKL to MK. Some have said these buses stop at TTC and we then have to take the monorail or the ferry to MK, while others have said that the buses go directly to MK front gates. Can anyone clear this up once and for all? Thanks!

All Disney Resort buses go directly to the MK. There are NO Disney Resort buses at the TTC.

The TTC does however service AK park. So, if you go from AK park, you'd then go through the TTC.

Thanks for the response! I remember hearing somewhere that AKL had good bus service, but then I'd heard all these other reports about the other buses and I got kind of worried!

Of course, this whole June trip has me worried what with crowds and all :earseek:

We were at AKL the first week in May and were extremely pleased with their bus service! The buses were never crowded and went directly to MK, not the TTC. There was only one time when the bus was crowded, and that was when the parade let out and it started to rain. There was a mass exit and it was standing room only on the bus. Other than that, the buses were almost empty!

I agree! We were there the last week in April and the buses came frequently, every 5 to 10 minutes. No need to worry. Enjoy :cool1:

Please don't believe all the reports you read about bus transportation. Most people like to exaggerate. I go to WDW nearly every weekend and use only the buses to get around. I have never waited more than the 20 minutes Disney states, and most times I only wait 5 or so minutes. Don't Worry.
