Any feedback on "Boma" in AKL? Meeting in-laws there for dinner with my 12, 9 & 5 year old girls. Menu looks a little funky.................

I've been...it's a mixture of African foods with some traditional standbys for those not adventuresome. It was fine with me; my sister probably would not care to go back. There was plenty of choices for all, IMO.

I love Boma and the rest of my family likes it a lot also. The menu is different but the cuisine is not spicy; just spiced. A lot of cinnamon, nutmeg, and herbs but not fiery peppers or other hot spices. The soups are always interesting and tasty and they generally have a variety of meats (and fish) that you will find to your liking....at minimum they always seem to have prime rib. In addition, the desserts are very good too. They also have simple kid foods too like chicken tenders, pizza, mac & cheese....definitely a lot of choices for everyone.

The atmosphere is boisterous and playful and I find the cuisine suits that well. Definitely different and if you like ordinary and are not adventurous, it may not be for you. But overall, it is one of my top 5 favorite restuarants at this time at WDW; I enjoy the variety and different flavors it offers...not common at all.

Boma is great! We've eaten there many times, and it is still requested by DD's
16 and 9! There really is something there for everyone. Great fruits and salad bar, too, plus lots of veggies and really interesting entrees. The desserts are
fabulous, and don't miss those zebra domes!! Great food combined with great ambiance! Enjoy!:goodvibes

Boma was my favorite meal so far at Disney (if we are just talking food). Lots of variety. And if you don't like something, no sweat because it's a BUFFET!! Just move on to the next thing!:thumbsup2

We went to Boma for the first time this last trip. We went BACK on the same trip because it was SO AMAZING. The atmosphere and the food can't be beat. You can PM me if you want me to send you pictures of the resturant.

There are lots of non-adventureous and adventurous food choices. and the lodge itself is worth going for!

Wife and I went there once...we won't ever go back again.

If you don't like "funky" food then this place isn't for you.

I'm pretty open about any kind of food but wife and I thought the food was disgusting.

My family went there last trip & I absolutely LOVED it! The service, atmosphere, & the food were excellent. The soups & salads were amazing. If you're traveling with picky eaters, there's also a nice selection, if not overly large, of comfort food like mac & cheese, chicken fingers, etc. So there's something to please even the most fussy of palates. My niece, who is INCREDIBLY picky, loved it. Even if you don't try the African food, the atmosphere & the hotel itself are worth the trip.

Feedback? How about "No one can resist ZEBRA DOMES..."

We love it so much I've learned the recipes and have duplicated them on several occasions, the most recent being last Friday as part of my wife's Birthday celebration. She loves the Coconut Curry Seafood Stew at Boma. The recipes can be found online at the link I am providing (follow that recipe exactly but note that I've had better results using an extra can of coconut milk and extra curry.)

What I recommend is that you can scan the recipes and see if they are anything you'd be interested in eating.

For everyone else, here are your favorites! Try them at home - but fair warning: Now the family always comes to our house for the holidays. Expect a LOT of company...

Boma Recipes

Cheers!

There is absolutely NOTHING "funky" about the food at Boma! It is my whole family's favorite at WDW. Some menu items may not be anything you have encountered before, but if you try them, you will be pleasently surprised! Otherwise, there are lots of mainstream items, like beef, chicken, salad, and GREAT desserts!

Boma is great. We have eaten dinner there two times and breakfast once. We will be going back when we return to WDW in the spring.
I think it has something for everyone. Enjoy!!!!!

Boma is our favorite place to dine, bar none. The food is FANTASTIC, and yes, the Zebra Domes RULE! :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

The food selection is great, everyone from myself, to my wife, 4 year old daughter, and mother find something they thoroughly enjoy. We have a rezzie there for this Monday night and can hardly wait to get there!!

Highly recommended! :goodvibes

We are trying it for the first time this September and I am so happy to see so many glowing reviews.

So tell me about these zebra domes. What do they taste like and their texture?

Subcribing, also trying it for the 1st time in Sept. We are doing a breakfast and a dinner at Boma.
