Ok, we have all these threads on those that were offered the move or called to request the move.

Now, who else wants to stay put!!

We have a Pool View Bunk Bed room for 8/26 - 9/2, and I don't plan on switching resorts!! :woohoo:

I hope you can stay. We were flat out told that there was not a room for us at AKL.

I'm staying put as well. Visit will be 8/14-8/18. I called yesterday and they gave me the option of staying so that is what I have decided to do. We also have a pool view room, don't think we opted for bunkbeds, but would love it if they gave it to us. My big question now is, where exactly is the construction taking place, what trail? I think knowing that will ease my mind even further. Glad to hear that I'm not the only one staying, can't wait to see how empty the pool will be:rotfl:

That is what they told me as well at first, cm's exact words were"oh, you definitely will need to move" so then I pressed on and asked if the whole resort will be closed and she said "no, there will be a few rooms available" then I asked, "well, then can I be one of those that doesn't move" and her reply was exactly "well, of course you can stay" So I don't really know what the truth is at this point, all I know is we are staying put for now and hoping to enjoy a much less crowded resort!

Our ressie is for 8/29 to 9/5 st view. I'm hoping we don't get a call. I would love a pool view since there was no sv available.

I plan on staying put also. Our dates are 9/8 to 9/13, 2 pool view bunk bed rooms. We will be in the park during construction hours, so unless there will be a crane outside our window or construction tape everywhere that will distort our view, we are taking our chances.

We're staying from Sept 2-11 in a Savanna view room. I don't plan on moving and hope I don't get the call. This is the one resort that I have always wanted to stay at if I ever had the opportunity to go to WDW. It's pretty unlikely that we'll ever go again unless we win the lottery :lmao: So I'm staying put, they would have to offer me another trip complete with airfare, accommodations and meals before I would move - what's the likelihood of that happening :rotfl2: That being said if people are happy and like what they're offered then that's great. Just don't ask me to make the move - pleasssssse.

i heard a rumor, and only a rumor, that the animals may not be visible at the AKL but may be moved to AK or other "behind the scenes" type place... and i cannot imagine staying at the AKL and not seeing any animals roaming... esp if i am paying for savannah view...

has anyone else heard this?

I have heard from our Concierge that the only the animals on the Sunset Savannah are being affected.

My **** shall be firmly parked in my room at AKL. They will need that heavy construction equipment to move it. :rotfl: I refuse to call and give them the chance to move me. We are staying concierge, and from what I hear no one there is being asked to move. I put my trust in Disney to make sure my trip is great. We are going from 9-16 to 22, and hope the majority of work will be done by then. This is our first trip, and I am praying to whatever gods and/or goddesses will listen. I hope to see some people there, but will not be sorry if I have the place to myself either!:rotfl2:

I am staying from 8/26 through 9/3 as well.
I have not been contacted but I have been begging for a bunk bed room and have not been able to be accomodated. I would hold on to that room. On the other hand, if I am offered a YC room I would take it a NY miniute. I am concerned about the animals being move...if the animals are not present then it would make no sense from my kids to stay there and I trust Disney to accomodate me at that point.
Good Luck

At this point, if you were to call and see if your ressie is affected, YC should be offered to you, assuming they have availability. It was offered to me.

We will be there 8/2 - 8/5 and planning to stay put...I will let all of you end of August people know how it goes. We have a concierge room booked and they said we do not need to move, so I am not offering! The concierge insists all is well and the animals are there...we are going for it!!

I plan on it!! I got very lucky with the bunk bed room. I had reserved just a standard view room, that had been all that was available. I get looking online though, and saw it pop up one day. I called my TA, and she got it for us, they said it was the last one for the Free DP. My kids are thrilled!

We go on 7/25 through 8/8 and I am staying even if I have to graze on the savannah!! Never looked forward to anything as much in my life and I refuse to let all the speculation spoil it

when i eventually go to akl, I am with you. there is nothing finer then sitting in bed and watching an african savanna haha.

We'll be there from July 11th to the 16th. We were called and offered SSR. They never said we had to move, but my wife refused the offer and said "nothing could keep me from the AKL".

We talked about it and decided to stay as the AKL is my wife and kids favorite. I always get out voted.

We've always been upgraded before when we check in, but we figured since we're going during a high volume time that we might not get any pixie dust. Now with people being moved, maybe something good will come of it....
