AKL and Monorail

We are staying at AKL when we go to WDW in May. I understand that AKL is not on the monorail line and indeed, AKL has it's own bus line. However, my DS REALLY wants to ride the monorail. Is there any reason why we can't take the AKL bus to EPCOT and then take the monorail to MK? Or vice versa, take the AKL bus to MK and then take the monorail to EPCOT before catching the AKL bus back to our hotel?

Does anyone have any hints for making this an event in and of itself for a 7 year old?

Hi! That is certainly available for you to do! :earsboy: Take the bus to TTC and then hop on the monorail. You can go completely around or get off at each stop to look around at the resorts and just enjoy the view. It is great fun. We always take some time to just enjoy the monorail even if we arent staying at a monorail resort. The kids love it and it is fun and comfy. Have you made priority seatings yet? You could make a special ps for 1900 park fare or chef mickey's and make it a special llittle outing: monorail trip to your character meal. Great fun. :teeth:

Have a great trip.

If you have the time to spare, there is no reason at all, that you cannot do this. We really like the monorail too.

My tip to make it even MORE memorable for your DS, either way you ride (TTC to EPCOT, or EPCOT to TTC) ask one of the monorail CMs if you can ride in the front car with the pilot. There is a limit of 4 additional people, but it is one of our FAVORITE things to do.

You may have to wait if other guests have asked before you, but if you only have to wait one more train, it's well worth it.
