AKL and discounts mid August...do you usually get any?

we are not going until 2007 but starting the planning
I just wondered wether to expect any sort of discount at this time, I am thinking of buying a AP

As you can see from all of the posts about AP rates... don't buy it just for the room rates, you cannot count on them. History has shown that from 7/5 until sometime in Oct, you will get a decent savings on the deluxe resorts in Disney. However, Disney seems to be changing, so don't base your decision on that. Calculate the cost of the AP as opposed to the amount of days that you will be going into the park. If it comes out cheaper with an AP, then go for the AP... then any perks offered are nice money saving extra's. If the cost of the AP exceeds the amount of days you will be in the parks (using the My Way Tickets) then do not get the AP in hopes that you will get that nice discount on the room....

We got the AAA rate this August, which was 20% at AKL. Not too shabby.
