AKL 3rd Floor Noise?

The third floor of AKL is the lobby floor, right? So are rooms on the third floor noisy because of hallway foot traffic?

Also, what's your favorite floor at AKL? I've got ressies, but my only floor-specific request is "not the first floor."

I was on the 3rd floor in June, I can't remember the room number because this trip I did 3 resorts in 5 days. LOL I can tell you it wasn;t near the lobby, it was a hike to our room but the view we had was the best or at least the best to me, animals in the morning and lots of them at night, I dont know about during the day, I was never near the resort.

Just returned from AKL, 4 nights on the third floor (Room 3555) and it was very far away from the lobby. It was nice not having to wait for the elevator and walking straight to the lobby. The only time we used the elevator was to go to the pool.

We were there in April and stayed on the 2nd floor. All I know is that we and many others walked past the 3rd floor rooms that are before the elevators all the time, so I would imagine some of that noise gets in the rooms. So if you want make sure and want the 3rd floor ask for a room after the elevators.

My family has stayed on the third floor twice -- once very close to the lobby and another time way down one of the halls. Both stays were wonderful. Noise was not a problem -- animal watching was (because every time I got up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom, I wound up standing on my balcony for at least 30 minutes just looking out onto the savannah and viewing whatever animals happened to be roaming around!). I hope you have a wonderful stay no matter what floor you're on. I should mention that my first stay was on the fifth floor (it was incredible and got me hooked on the AKL).
