We are going to take some of the in-laws for a two-night stay in December just before Christmas. We own at AKL. We have been going back and forth between trying for a two bedroom value at Jambo or just opting for the easier to book dedicated 2 br at Kidani. The kidani option gives us two queen beds rather than a queen and a pull out for the in-laws. It also gives us an extra bathroom, larger room, and continuous balcony from what I've read. So, any opinions? There will be seven of us total, with two children (7 and 9). The only thing that keeps me going back to the value is the chance at a savannah view. Of course, we could end up with a parking lot view as well. Anyone have experience to share or experience with standard view at Kidani?

I'd go for the extra bathroom, bed and space given the make up of your group. There are so many places to view the animals at Kidani that for me, having a savanna view is a lesser concern than having the extra space, etc. That's especially true for me since the views from the value rooms aren't really all that great, IMO.

I'm not much of a risk taker, though, so the CHANCE of getting stuck with less space, no 3rd bathroom, a pullout in the second bedroom AND a parking lot view just doesn't make saving a few points worth it for me. YMMV.

For two nights I don't think it matters. I am editing my original reply. Go with the dedicated this way everyone is in real beds and an extra bathroom each couple /family could have their own bathroom.

It really depends on the makeup of the adult portion of the group and whether the odd person is appropriate for a pullout or not. If that's not an issue, I'd likely go for the value but for all other situations I'd opt for the standard Kidani option.

Would anyone be able to tell me if there is a difference in the master bathroom in Kidani vs Jambo House?
I see pictures of the Kidani master bath on the WDW website, but they don't show pics of the Jambo House 1BR master bath.

So there will be 6 people including 2 kids? Where will the kids sleep? If the plan is the kids will sleep in the living room, perhaps the inlaws would like the bed/sofa combo. They would still have someplace to sit if the kids go to bed early or sleep in.

One of the reasons we like DVC is my DH likes having a sofa. He always hated trying to drink morning coffee and watch the news while sitting on a bed at the values.

I believe the OP said 7 inc 2 children. The odd adult is going to be the kicker in this situation it would seem.

It's a huge difference. Jambo is the only DVC 1BR that is not en-suite (attached to the master). In addition, in Jambo, the shower requires a step into the Jacuzzi tub. There is also only 1 bathroom vanity sink in the Jambo 1BR. (Every other DVC has either a 2nd vanity in the 1BR dressing/tub area, or has a 2nd full bathroom (with the 2nd vanity)

Kidani has a huge en-suite master bathroom with separate shower and tub, and a 2nd full bathroom.
