We are toying with the idea of going to the AKL for a few days again on our next trip. We have been spoiled with the DVC rooms now and the last time we went to AKL I couldn't handle the space so we are considering a 1 Bedroom Suite. So, I have a few questions for all you AKL experts.

1) Does the bedroom of a 1 bedroom suite have a King bed or 2 Queens? From all the pictures I have seen it looks as if there might be some of each. If that is the case, does anyone know how many there are with 1 King and how many there are with 2 Queens?

2) What floor are the 1 bedroom suites located on?

3) I am pretty sure all suites at WDW include concierge, but I just want to confirm that is true?

As far as I know, all 1br suites have 2 queens in the bedroom and a pull out sofa in the living room. All 2 br suites have a king in the bedroom and a pull out sofa in the living room (and the second bedroom that may have a few different set ups)

Could you just ask for the 1 br part of a 2 br suite? I don't know but I'm sure AKL Concierge could tell you if you asked.

They are on various different floors throughout the hotel. If walking to the lounge is not a problem I would rather stay in a suite than in a regular concierge room because of being closer to the animals.

Yes, the suites at AKL include concierge.

We were in a 2BR suite that could be used as a one BR suite as well. The LR had a sleeper sofa, and there was a king in the master BR. Off the LR was a lockoff room that was basically a standard room with a queen and set of bunkbeds. There are photo's of it in my links below. We were on the 3rd floor, and had conceirge service.

How many people will be in your party? I'm sure if you contacted them before hand and explained what type of set up you would like they would try hard to honor your request.

There are only 4 of us. Myself, my husband my Son - 7 and my Daughter - 6. So, either set up will really work for us I guess. I just kind of like to leave the Living Room as an actual Living Room instead of using if for a bedroom. I also don't like having to open and close the couch everyday but I guess with concierge someone does that for you so that is nice. Thanks everyone for all your help. Maybe I will call and ask.

Anne, Thank you, I have seen your pics, they were great, but I also saw ones of I think Janet2k's that I thought had 2 queens in the bedroom. So I think they have both.

Terry S, I specifically requested two queen-sized beds in the one-bedroom suite. I was told that my request was just that, a request, but they would do their best to honor it. I was happy to find that they did indeed honor my request. Imagine the horror if my parents would have, eh gads, had to "share" a king-sized bed in the master bedroom ;). (That stay was just my young daughter & myself, plus my parents, and thus only a need for a one-bedroom suite.)
