We just book the Princess Breakfast for 8:15 on Dec 28! YEA! I am wondering what exactly they serve...I know they are supposed to be really good with the allergies, but my son is allergic to eggs and nuts, and my daughter to eggs. She can eat the eggs in muffins, donuts, etc, so she should be able to find something to eat. My son can't have any eggs at all. Any ideas on what they serve that he might be able to have?
Also, I think I am supposed to contact someone named Brenda? What is the info she will give me? Will she have info on stuff like ice cream, so I know ahead of time. We only plan on eating at Hollywood and Vine and the breakfast, the rest of our food we are bringing in for lunch, and eating dinner at home, but probably will grab snacks. So who is she and how do i contact her? Thanks a bunch!!

Hi and :welcome: to disABILITIES!

If you click on where it says "disABILTIES" at the top of this page it will take you to the Index. One of the top items is the "disABILTIES FAQ" which will gives lots of useful information. Look in Post #3 for "Dietary Restrictions" and you will find answers to just about all of your question there, including links to reports with information.

Or, if you want an easier route to the FAQs, click on the link in my signature.

My daughter has several food allergies (dairy, egg, soy, peanut and tree nuts) and we have eaten here in the past. She was able to enjoy many different kinds of fresh fruit, as well as waffles. The chef brought a separate plate of safe food out to the table for her so we didn't need to worry about any cross contamination. We have eaten at many restaurants on Disney property, both table service and counter service, and have found Disney to be very accommodating.

We've only eaten at Akershus for dinner, not breakfast. I just wanted to comment about how AMAZING they were there. The chef even made up a batch of safe chocolate chip muffins for my daughter after having called me at home and asking about her favourite foods (I do remember mentioning just how thrilled she'd be to be able to have some kind of chocolate chip baked good during out trip). She was brought a HUGE fresh fruit platter as her appetizer since she clearly couldn't eat from the dinner appetizer bar, along with the delicious muffin as part of the appetizer. That alone would have been enough food. The selection of fruit really was the best selection we remembered seeing during out trip. He also custom made some of the tastiest food she ate her whole trip for her dinner and them made a beautiful brownie sundae for dessert (same ingredients for her sundae there as everywhere else, but he put extra effort into the presentation). She was so thrilled that she had to ask the chef to have a picture taken with her when he brought out the sundae. I would think that the breakfast would be just as good.

It was a good enough dinner that it's the only place on our upcoming trip that is a repeat ADR. We wanted to try new places this time, but everybody really wanted to go there again. I had to give up trying Coral Reef (one of these years I'll get there) because everybody else wanted Akershus again.

I too have had very good service here for Breakfast!
I got vans waffles but I could eat the rest ( eggs, etc.) There is fruit which was nice & freshl!! the chef was wonderful, brought my food out , asked if I needed more, etc. very nice :)
no problems when we went!
make sure you contact the special diets team before you go- it will help notify everyone when you are coming and make notes on your ADR's

Some places you can tell them and you have to tell them over and over..
Don't be afraid to speak up!

We also had dinner there this summer with no problems and fine accommodations.

My family went to the princess breakfast there several years ago. My DD10, who is allergic to peanuts and nuts, had a great, worry-free meal there. They were very knowledgeable about cross-contamination issues and put us at ease.

DVCDawn :tink:

Thanks for all the info! I feel alittle crazy bringing 2 kids with egg allergies to a place that serves eggs as the main course...lol

IMO, WDW is one of the best places to take a child with a food allergy. They really go the extra mile to make sure they have an enjoyable experience. A chef will come to your table and walk you through the line. :thumbsup2

When DS 14 was younger, he was thrilled to receive his special Mickey pancakes at POR and unique dessert at Boma's.

Buffets are the best because they have so many options. It's my son's favorite way to eat at WDW.
