Hi!
Has anyone experienced Akershus (lunch) solo?

A bit of background: I am planning my first solo trip, Disney or otherwise! My first time at WDW was Oct. 2016 with the family. I’ve also been to Disneyland several times with family.
Now I want to go it alone! :) I am booked during the second week in September.

My DD has a Disney cookbook that she got autographs in last year. But we didn’t really meet any princesses. I told her I would take her book and get as many autographs as I could. It seems like an Akershus meal will let me get a whole bunch in a short time, plus in air conditioning!

I don’t mind eating solo at restaurants. Do it all the time at home. But I wondered how awkward it might be with the princesses? I don’t know why this one meal is making me anxious, but it is . . .

Any insight or suggestions would be appreciated!

I've never done Akershus solo (and I've heard there's a glitch in the online reservation system that won't let you book a table for 1 - you have to book for 2, then call to get it adjusted), but I've done Cinderella's Royal Table solo plenty of times and it's never been awkward with the character meet and greets. They usually make a really nice time of it.

Thank you! I appreciate hearing this! I imagine any awkwardness will be of my own making. So I'll just go and have fun!

I must have gotten lucky as I have been able to make all my dining reservations a party of 1.

I have dined at Askershus solo! It was fine. The princesses were great. My only issue was Belle was late and I had a first seating...so I was full and basically had to wait an extra 15 min to get my pic with her. (She greets you before you are seated for a picture a la Cinderella's royal table). The staff said they would help get pictures when I was seated, but all the people around me jumped in so it was never needed. Also, yummy food.
