Hi there!

If you’ve been to the Akershus Royal breakfast buffet, could you share details on your experience (food quality, food served, princesses that come to the tables, etc)?

Thank you in advance!

We have done the Breakfast 3 times in 2016, 17 and this past September 2018. I can give you 2 great reasons to go. First reason, Princesses! Our girls loved seeing them and getting autographs without having to wait in line to do so. They also do a parade which the kids love! Second reason is you can eat then get right on Frozen with little to no wait. We actually rode it twice in a row in 2016 and 2018. 2017 we rode it 5 or 6 times as the parks were empty due to Irma. I would not recommend it for only the food. It's a "add on" buffet. They bring out the main food (eggs, bacon, sausage etc.) and you go to the buffet for other items like fruit, oatmeal, yogurt, cheeses and such. The food is your standard, nothing special breakfast items. It's not "Bad" food, just not "Great" food either.

We did it once several years ago, and it was great. The princesses spent a good amount of time at the table. It was all the major princesses (no Cinderella). The food was okay. My mom wanted her eggs and bacon more well done, and they accommodated that and brought out separate eggs and bacon platters just for her cooked how she wanted. Overall great experience and I would definitely do it again.

Thank you so much for sharing your experience! The reservation that is open right now is for a 10:40 am table, on a 9:00 am park open time, so if we were to go would be strictly for the food and princesses. Based on what you mentioned, food is standard ok. My girls are pre-teens and have met the princesses before but never at Akershus. Side question, have you done the supercalifragilisticexpialidocius breakfast at the GF? If so, which one would you recommend?

Great to know! How many princesses come to the tables?

I forgot to add that we always did the PPO reservation so we could be at the Frozen ride before the crowds. At 10:40 that ride will have a long line. Better to get a FP for it!

We have done both breakfasts and enjoyed both, but the supercalifragilisticexpialidocious is one of our favorites. We like the food better and love meeting Alice, Mad Hatter and Mary Poppins. Akershus is a great Princess meal but I would ask your girls if they are interested in these other characters.

I like Akershus. The food is good, the service is excellent, in my experience, and the Princess interactions is way better than in CRT. I also enjoy 1900 Park Fare, however given a choice of character meals with the ages of your girls, I would skip both and go to dinner at 1900 Park Fare. The Tremaine family is awesome, with the Step sisters making the meal a hoot. Cindy and Charming are there as well, but the main attraction is really the Tremaine's. The food is buffet food, but it really is pretty good.

This is actually one of our favorite breakfasts in the parks. We have gone the last 3 trips and love it so much more than CRT - the food is better and more plentiful, we were never rushed and the service is great, the princess interactions are always great. We love the cold buffet and the hot foods brought to the table - the cheesy potato casserole is awesome!!

We did breakfast there for the first time last year. DH and I don't have any kids, so the character aspect wasn't a huge deal. We were on the Deluxe Dining Plan and needed an Epcot breakfast (we were already doing Garden Grill another day), so I booked it. It ended up being our favorite breakfast of the trip. The cold bar was great for fruit and pastries, then the hot food was delicious. The best thing was the cheesy potato casserole. We only needed one breakfast in Epcot for our trip next month and DH insisted that we go back to Akershus for those potatoes.

We did both last trip and 1900 was better hands down. The food at Akershus was very average whereas at 1900 it was a step above that. And while it was nice to see the princesses, the characters interacted so much more at 1900 especially the mad hatter, he was great.

I would definitely vote for 1900 park fare for breakfast, because the food is much much better for breakfast there. Akershus is in my view wayyy overpriced for scrambled eggs and soggy WDW bacon. BUT if you can get lunch or dinner at Akershus, I would definitely do that instead. The food is much better for lunch and dinner (and more in keeping with the world showcase as it is Scandinavian food then). And the princesses at Akershus are great.
