We're heading down to Disney May 16th - 23rd, very excited! :goodvibes We're on QSDP so we're not doing many TS at all, 3 at most. Anyway, we wanted to treat the girls to one nice princess dinner, but can't decide which is the best way to go.

We plan to be at Epcot all day Thursday the 19th, thought maybe we could do a midday lunch break at Akershus.

The other option is we have nothing planned on the 20th, its going to be our Rest and Relaxation day. There was a 7:05 dinner at 1900 PF that I snagged just so I would have it. But would this be the better option than Akershus?

Which has better food/better character interaction? Better atmosphere? And in regards to our plans, which do you think would make the most sense? Thanks for any input. :goodvibes:goodvibes:goodvibes

I have not been to either in many years, so I can't speak for most aspects.

I would think about which princess characters your girls like better.

At 1900 Park Fare, dinner is usually Cinderella, Prince Charming, Lady Tremaine, Drizella, and Anastasia (the cast of Cinderella...so only one actual princess).

At Akershus, you get a princess assortment which can include any of the following, but not all at the same time: Jasmine, Belle, Ariel, Aurora, Snow White, Mulan, and occasionally Cinderella and/or Mary Poppins (ok she's not a princess but she is cool).

The problem with Akershus is that it's going to be difficult to get an ADR there this late in the game. You already have one for 1900 Park Fare.

While we love the Princesses at Akershus, and we like the breakfast food but do not care for there other meals.

We do like 1900 very much, food is good, and love the Step Mother and Step Sisters. There a hoot.

We have eaten breakfast and dinner at 1900 PF and it's on our list again!!!! They have something for everyone and the character interaction rocks!!!! We found the food choices at Askerhaus to be a bad value for breakfast and poor selections for our family for dinner! Whatever you choose have a magical trip!!!!:wizard:

There are more princesses at Akershus, but that being said breakfast is the only meal we really like there. I am not interested and didn't like their lunch and dinner menus. At 1900 Park Fare the food for dinner is much better but you only see Cinderella. Now for my daughter that is enough and my son really enjoys the step-family because they are very very funny. We found the character interaction is great. My daughter loves that Cinderella and Prince Charming dance together during dinner. It's cute. Unless you can do breakfast at Akershus, I recommend 1900 for dinner.

We loved the princesses in Norway but we HATED the food! It is not typical food that kids will eat (or my husband and I would eat). My husband and I did not enjoy any of it. The princesses were great. They came to our table over and over the entire time. You are spending a lot of money to eat there- you might want to check out the menu first! Is there anything you would eat?

If you are in it for the princeses you can not miss with Norway. We didn't find the food all that unusual. I had the chicken, DH had the beef tips and even my picky dd was good with the hotdog. I have a friend who prefers to steer clear of anything new so she did the breakfast and really enjoyed it.

As for 1900 Park Fare, just as pp stated it was a hoot!! We loved the step sisters and step-mother. Cinderella and Prince Charming were quite boring but we would go back for the others. And the food was good.

The experience with Anastasia and Drizella (ugly stepsisters) at 1900 Park Fare is not to be missed. You can do an Akershus breakfast or wait in line for princesses. The dinner at Park Fare brings something else to the table.

We tried Akershus last year for breakfast and we loved the character interaction. But we also did NOT like the food. We would not go back.

This year we are trying 1900 Park Fare for dinner. Glad to see all of the good reviews on this character dinner.

Thanks for the info guys, sounds like 1900 PF would be more bang for our buck...as long as there is SOME kind of princess there I think the girls would be alright.

There are a lot of openings for Akershus at lunch that day...maybe that should be a red flag. ;)

My only concern is our 1900PF ressie is at 7:05. After dinner we'd have to grab the monorail over to MK to catch a bus back to ASMo...would we be getting there right at MK closing(9pm) thus stuck in the mob, or do you think we'd probably beat that crowd?

Based on my experience at 1900 Park fare, it takes them 20 minutes to get you seated once you arrive, and there is a photo opp as well. We sat down at 10:30 and got out around noon, so you would be pushing it.

ASMO buses are always busy and have long lines, You could walk around the grand flo and watch the waterparade go buy and let the crowds die down a little.
