I am planning our first trip to WDW as a family for this December. (It has been 18 years since I have been) I was a good DIS lurker and called 180 days out and got all my ADR's scheduled and waited patiently for FD to come out for my times. Here is my question...

I have Akershus scheduled for lunch right now. I just checked and they have some late breakfasts available for my date. My DH is a wonderful man but a very picky eater. Akershus has me a little worried. I am thinking about changing my reservation and eat "lunch" at 11:00 while they are still serving breakfast foods. Any thoughts? Or... would they allow him to order the child's chicken and potatoes and use an adult credit? Would that be enough food for him?

Thanks.

My suggestion would be breakfast for sure. We did lunch in 2010 and hated the food. My husband, who will eat anything, liked it, but the rest of us were not thrilled. I would never go at that time of day again. That being said, breakfast was wonderful in 2011. The whole princess experience is fantastic, and the food was great! We really loved it. Are you on the dining plan? If you are, you could do what we did and eat breakfast as your table service, and then use two counter service as lunch and dinner. My family splits counter service meals so we always have extras to use as we wish. That often results in us either eating breakfast on a daily basis with our extras, or using them on a day where we have breakfast scheduled as a table service. If we are extra hungry while sharing a counter service meal, we will use snacks to make our meals go a little further.

I would go w/brft. if it's available. We got the latest brft (11:00) since it was an early EMH day, and made use of the early hrs. before stopping to eat. The food was good, and of course we wanted the princesses for DD, and Ariel was there in "human" form in her dress, so even better. If you do a late brft., they do start changing over to lunch while you're there, but they let us know so we could get more if we wanted before they put it away. I believe we could also have eaten from the lunch buffet as they brought that out too, but we were full, and are also not that adventurous, so we did not. Enjoy!

Thanks for your responses. I just changed my ADR to be at 11:00 for breakfast. We are planning on attending MVMCP that night so I was making that a slow day. We will have already been in Epcot for a half day on Saturday so my thought was to do a few little things there, eat and then spend most of the day back at the hotel getting resting for the party (DD5 and DS almost 3) so this change will work just as well with our plan. We always eat breakfast foods at night so it won't bother us to eat breakfast for lunch.

Thanks again!

Will breakfast at Akershus be buffet or table service? Will the breakfast food still be good if we are waiting so late to eat it?
