Has anyone done this dinner. We have an AR the day we are at Epcot, but the food looks weird (Norwegian). Of course my wife and I are doing it for our DD and DNiece, and there are no openings at the MK Princess dinner, so it's the next best option. I just hate to pay $$ for a meal I won't like............
:confused3

The kids hated it. Didn't eat much of anything. All the princesses were there, which was neat. But they made us stay, and stay seated until each princess had visited each table-which was nearly 2 hours. I thought I would have to knock 3 yr old DS out to keep him from having a fit. Especially since there was nothing he would eat except one little pastry thing.

If you're looking for an alternative, 1900 Park Fare in Grand Floridian has Cinderella and the Prince for dinner. The other Princesses are no longer at MK's dinner. Now, I have heard some really positive reviews for Akershus, but if the kids are picky eaters, you may want to try breakfast.

The food is amongst some (actually the best) of the best we have ever had in WDW.We hate the thought of returning because of the princesses but will go back because the food is so good. We absolutely love it. I suppose that is because I have brought the kids up eating fish, salads and really healthy food and have never allowed them fast food or the kind of food that is prevalent in Disney. Since they hate anything that appears on kids menus, here they can eat wonderful food from the buffet.
Why dont you look again at the menu? I still dont understand why people take the risk with food that wont suit their palate, but still they go to Akershus and then complain. A good idea would be to do the breakfast if you think the food 'strange' which of course I dont think it is.

I'm laughing so hard right now. Thanks for your honesty. My ds will be 2 then so he may not like that food. Actually DD, DH and I might not either. I can't believe it took 2 hours! I'm not that patient.

I just made reservations there today for my visit in May. I called for the one in MK, but couldln't get in. I thought 5 princesses! That's great!... Then I looked up the food. Oh, boy! I may have made a mistake here. I'm really picky. I am sure that I can survive and I will probably try something, but I don't want to pay that much and come out hungry.

The two hour thing scares me to death. We have one girl and two boys. I don't see them being too patient for that. This will be an adventure at the very least!

Ok....now, this is one of the few places I've eaten at Disney...considering I'm there about 2-3 times a month....Reason being, I've heard the food is weird from dis'ers and never was bothered enough to actually look at the menu....Maybe it's just me, or maybe I'm just more traveled or something, but it doesn't seem all that "exotic" and "weird" to me. As for the kids food, they've got the standard, pasta, hot dog, or chicken selection. :confused3 I don't get it....but now I think I'm going to have to try it for sure.

I.m going to really try for the Princess dinner @ the MK up to the last minute, I'm not worried about the time I think. @ little "princesses" of my own should have a ball, just as long a Snow White is there. I'm pretty sure Cinderella does not show up at this one either.

We were there just over an hour - about the same time it takes us for any TS.

I too am very picky & thought there was nothing on the menu I'd eat, and was sure I'd be hungry - since we had the free dining I booked it anyway so DD could see Ariel. Was pleasantly surprised at how much I liked, and did not leave hungry.

I can't say it was our favorite meal, but it was a good meal.

DD is more adventerous & ordered vension. Convinced me to take one bite - and it was very good. No "weird" taste - if I didn't know what it was I would have thought it was beef.

Many posts recommended the kjottkaker (not sure of spelling), and it's what the CM suggested too, so I ordered it - with the plan of trading it for DD's chicken. Turned out it was good too - and I don't normally eat one of the ingredients.

To OP: Sure, there's some Norweigen foods, but on both the cold appetizer buffet & entrees, there's "normal" things. For example, potato salad, ham, cheese on the buffet (I steered clear of herring, bravely tried the goat cheese & hated it). Chicken & pasta for entree.

Kids meal is typical: pasta, chicken, even a hot dog.

Dessert was really good.

And Cinderella was at our dinner last fall.

Snow White wasn't at our CRT lunch or our PSB dinner last fall.

Didn't realize that until just now.

Snow White was at our PSB & CRT breakfasts in 2004.

We had dinner there 3 weeks ago. We had no problem with the food selection......we all found something on the menu we thought we would like. However, when the food arrived, it was a different story. My pasta looked and tasted as if it had been sitting under a heat lamp for an hour.......barely warm and mushy. DH ordered salmon and it was way overcooked. No one at our table of 6 was pleased with the quality of the food. Maybe they were having a bad day in the kitchen.
