AK vs. MGM

Hmmm... both really are 'half-day' parks for us, but that's because my DW doesn't care for animals too much and I don't care for MGM's shows too much.

I would recommend AK mainly on the basis that I haven't met too many people in their 70s who would like riding RnRC, ToT, or Star Tours.

We prefer AK.

Maybe since you know he likes Epcot and there is plenty to do there, just do Epcot. Do AK sometime yourself to get a feel for what you like.

We actually like the zoo-like-ness of AK - there is a whole lot there that is not zoo, but the zoo parts are some of our favorites. And if my zoo had a safari like AK, I'd be there every week! But then, we are in Minnesota, so we don't have elephants or hippos at our zoos. Our tropical animals are behind glass for months of the year.

I would venture to guess that your dad, as others have said, would probably prefer AK to MGM. But, maybe that's just my opinion clouding the issue, as MGM is my least favorite Disney park by far. I will agree with the assertion that he would probably have the most enjoyable time over at EPCOT. But, again, that's my absolute favorite theme park, not only on Disney property, but anywhere in the world.
