AK to Disney-MGM

On 12/20, my family and I would like to watch the parade at AK and make it to the 50's Prime Time Cafe by 5 pm. The parade is at 3:45. First, is there a place to watch the parade and be able to leave quickly afterward? Second, will we be able to get halfway decent seats for Fantasmic, which is at 7 pm that night?

We always have our own transportation, so I can make in less than 45 mins., but I wouldn't try it depending on a bus, no matter where you watch the parade.

I will be relying on Disney transportation. Oh, boy, what do I want to miss? Who do I dissappoint?

Well you could try it. If the crowds aren't real bad, you could watch the parade as close to the front as possible or better yet near the safari ride, you'd be the first to see it then leave fast. It just depends on that bus.

Except that people tend to follow the parade out, so the pathway behind the parade becomes human gridlock.

I'd probably recommend watching from the Discovery Island area ... right near Island Mercantile. The parade should be completely past by about 4:15 ... you're still cutting it pretty close though.

I think that I will move that ADR to later in the week. That may be too much for that time frame. My DD and I really want to see that parade. And, my whole family wants to see Fantasmic. I know that we can catch a quick supper while waiting for the show.

Yes, that would be the best thing. You would be very rushed trying to make it for your ADR. Also, for best seating at Fantasmic you should be there roughly about 1 hour ahead of time. If you kept your dinner reservations, you probably wouldn't be able to do that either.

Also, just FYI, when we were there in October, people who had ADR's at 50's Cafe were waiting to be seated around 30 minutes (this can happen anywhere you have ADR's). This would really throw your plans off.

fantasmic is just TOO crouded
