We can rent a DVC AK studio value at Jambo for $140 or a BW standard studio at $224 ?
We would do breakfast in our rented DVC room each morning. :)

AK would be a nice savings and a small walk to the bus stop and main lobby.
We would save $84 a night if we stay at AK, and could use the money for dinner out
each evening.

BW could be a long walk to the lobby, boat, bus stop -but more food options
and walk to EPCOT and boat to DHS, bus to everywhere else.

We will be in our early 60's - we are mobile but no 10K's for us ;)

Which DVC studio would you choose?

Whichever you select, you'll probably need to book at 11 months out. Value villas are very limited and go quickly. Standard villas at BWV also go quickly; sometimes they are sold out at 11 months out.

I guess more food options at BWV but are they the food options you want? For example there is no true QS location and for sit down restaurants we really like the ones at AKV. We like both locations. Standard view studios aren't all a long walk from the elevator and the boats are not necessarily far from the buses. We never use that as a basis for where we stay because it varies so much. Another thing with the value studio - you might end up with a savanna view, a pool view or have a lesser chance of over looking the front entrance of the resort. If you do get the savanna view it's a nice bonus if you'll be spending some time at the resort.

It's hard to get both value rooms at AKL, as well as standard rooms at BWV. You might be able to get a 1bd , but a studio will require 11mo at 8am booking.

Good luck!

I prefer BWV, hands down.

i love the value studios but they are smaller than other studios. good for a couple but i wouldn't do it with a family of 4. BWV studios have more room (and walking to epcot and DHS is also very nice).

As much as I love the Animal Kingdom Lodge/Villas, they are really off the beaten path. When you stay at the Boardwalk you're around the corner from Epcot and DHS and not too far away from the Magic Kingdom. If you took a bus from the Animal Kingdom to any of those three parks plan on an hour trip between waiting for the bus and travel time. That is the only reason we don't stay at the Animal Kingdom as much as we would like. I think its the nicest resort we have stayed in, but too far away from everything (except The Animal Kingdom).

I love the value rooms but they are super hard to get during most seasons and almost impossible during high price seasons like christmas and easter.

Being so close to Epcot HS and fairly close to MK is priceless for us. Although I do love AKL for the resort and good options I would choose BWV
