During our most recent trip to WDW this past Nov., DH & I purchased the meal deal vouchers at the Animal Kingdom. You get a counter service entree & drink, and another coupon for popcorn or ice cream, and another drink. We thought it to be a great deal for around $12. We had lunch at the Flame Tree Barbeque which was great! Does anyone know if this program is still ongoing at the Animal Kingdom? We will be there next weekend and would do this again if available.

Yes, as of early this month they were. It was a really good deal :).

I asked in Dec. why such a great deal and the CM told me the sign was printed incorrectly and it will only be up until they get a new sign. Who knows!

It is a great deal! For those who aren't familiar with it, at a couple of counter-service restaurants in AK, you can purchase "meal deal" vouchersfor adults or children.

An adult voucher costs $10.99 or $11.99 (I think) and you get your choice of an entree and a drink along with coupons that can be used later that day (must be used the same day, though, in AK). If I remember correctly, there are 2 coupons - one for Ice Cream or Popcorn, and one for a 20oz bottled sofa or water.

I think the children's vouchers are $5.99 or $6.99.

When I was there in November, both Flametree BBQ and Tusker House were offering this.

Do they have to be ordered in advance or do you buy them at the park the day you are there?

Does sound like a good deal

You buy the vouchers at the restaurant when you go to order your food.

We did this in July. We bought them at Pizzafari and then used them throughout the day. My son had to have McDonlads, and my
wife and myself used them at Flame Tree. Then we had Ice Cream on our way to Lion King and then the drink we used in the heat watching the parade. This is the best deal open to anyone in the whole world. This time though we are going to Rainforest with my lunch connections voucher on our AK day. This is even a better deal!

How do you get vouchers? All the information I've read is connections and you have to join paying something like $85 to do that, right? If so, that's out for me because it wouldn't be worth the $$ the vouchers save if I'm paying so much to get the privilege of getting the vouchers in the first place!

With that said- as late as early Jan (on our last trip till the 3rd) they were doing the same meal deals -atleast at Restaurantosaurus (I think that's what it is called?) they did. Everyone's info on this thread is correct as far as I experienced.

You can get them at Pizzafari also?!? I did not know that! LOL

The Sybah Shelstah, this has nothing to do with the connection vouchers. This is something that is offered by Disney and only in the AK park. Hopefully, they'll expand it to other parks soon!

My suggestion is to get the vouchers as soon as you have a chance to stop into a counter service restaurant. You do not have to redeem any of them at that time. We liked doing it this way, because then as we played around in the park in the morning we could get a couple of bottles of water to share, then there was the drink that comes with lunch and then in the afternoon you still had one left for snacks.

If you plan to eat at Pizzafari and have kids you really can't go wrong. the kids meal there is $5.99 and so is the kids voucher! Same price and then you still get the drinkand popcorn/ice cream.

My suspicion is that they only have them at AK because a lot of people don't spend the whole day there and so many may not use up all of the vouchers. I know our first day we used the vouchers for the drinks as we were leaving just so they would not go to waste and we took the drinks with us. (I'm too frugal to not use them!) That's when I figured out we should get them right away.

We bought the vouchers for the first time this past tuesday, the 7th.

A very good deal.

There were 3 adults in the party and we bought 2 adult tickets. DS had the salmon plate at tusker house and dd and I split the big rib plate at Flametree. This included the big pop drinks.

As were were leaving AK, we got the pop/popcorn and ate that on the way out to wait for the buses for Epcot.

We guessed a savings of $8 total.
