AK reservation

Hi,
I have been lurking on disboard a while and learned a lot. I am afraid I missed information on booking early, though. I am trying to get a savanna view at AKL starting around Dec 8/9 for 4 or 5 nights and the system only shows pool and standard options : ( . I was thinking over a month in advance was fine but it looks like I waited too long. My surprise for DW and 6yo son may not be so great. We are really into the animals and photography is a big hobby so I wanted the view. I am not against spending 2 nights at one resort and then AKL for 2, but I can't even find that available. Will I have a better chance calling Disney travel rather than online? Any suggestions(other than book earlier : ) )?

I'm really not sure if there is anything you can do at this point but hope that someone cancels. You can always take some great pictures at the Animal Kingdom park. Good Luck!

Check availability by calling in and looking on-line. Someone may cancel. A month in advance is pretty much last minute, esp around the holidays.

The online site has a different group of rooms than those the CMs have when you call, so sometimes there is a difference. I ran into that once when I couldn't get the room by calling but got it by going online... I am afraid you are pretty late - the savannah rooms go first and you are inside the 45 day cancellation window. You can, however, go to the Lodge and walk around on the trails outside and see animals that way... though it does not compare to seeing them from your window.

One of the main reasons I want to stay from Dec 8 thru 12 is I think the crowds are much smaller. I am flexible with the dates and have found savanna views available just after Thanksgiving. How are the crowds starting the Sat or Sun after Thanksgiving and staying through Wed?
