I'm not sure if the current offerings include more substantial food items (like they used to have rotisserie chicken), but it seems there is always this option:

Picnic in the Park is available to anyone via a grab-and-go area in the Beastly Bazaar in Discovery Island. Guests may purchase a picnic for a group of 2, 4, or 6 people and select a non-alcoholic beverage, a choice of sandwich, chips, and dessert. The sandwich choices include Turkey Focaccia; Ham and Salami on Ciabatta; Tuna on Pita; Vegetarian Wrap; and Chicken Caesar Wrap.

I believe you get a reusable shopping bag to carry your food in and keep as a souvenir.

I thought Picnic in the Park was discontinued. It was a great option; DH and I really enjoyed it two years ago (Nov).

Check www.allears.net to see, but I dont think it is available anymore. I really hope I am wrong!

its not what it used to be. Its all premade sandwiches and nasty cake.

The preordered picnic with chicken plus hot or cold sides has been discontinued.

Now, they have grab and go sandwiches, chips, drinks and desserts for you to assemble your own picnic, but you can't preorder one and pick it up, and there are no hot food options.

Are you certain that it's been cancelled? It is still listed in the dining menus on www.wdwinfo.com and www.allears.net. I was planning on doing that on our trip next summer.

There have been no reports at all of the pre-ordered picnic being offered at any time after December 2009. However, Disney still designates it as "seasonal" which may be why the websites have kept the menu up.

It may be an assumption to say it has been discontinued, but I think it is a safe one, as the picnic in its former form has not been offered in nearly two years.
