AK October Hours

Hours have been updated....AK only open to 7:30PM...What the???

They can still change again. There is still lots of time. I am hoping anyway since my plan assumes it will be open later than that in December.

I guess they will creep their way to 10 or 11PM close??...lol. Maybe 7:30 is just their way of saying "Hey, we're gonna be open later, but we are not ready to give later ADR oppurtunities just yet or commit to ROL."

Yeah there's plenty of time to change them before October - but why extend them once now just to extend them again later?

maybe because its october and sundown is sooner they dont need to stay open as late to do the night time stuff? I am also going in october and have been wondering about the hours for a while.

Kenny lists Sundown around 7PMish the 1st week of Oct and the park closes at 7:30...for now

I kinda don't think they have released any new ADRs, I checked this morning for Tusker and there were no openings at dinner.

I am kind of bummed about the park hours. Our plan was only to do AK half day (DH and I had very little interest in going back since we went last year), but with 7 p.m. closing, getting to the park at 3 p.m. hardly makes it worth it. I guess what we had planned to do the morning of, we could do in the evening, but still.

We are going in October as well. I guess I wasn't expecting much later than a 7:00 close seeing as though it gets dark earlier. Same with Hollywood Studios. The early closes are a bummer though.

Tells me that ROL is not and more than likely wont be ready any time soon. At this point, it appears that they're only planning on one Jungle Book show each night. It's possible that they've got another Everest Yeti on their hands.

We have Y&Y ADR so wife is calling to see if their hours are extended yet. We shall see. I am guessing if the hours stay the same and it stays closed at 7, if there night show there will only be one after park closes like F! at DHS. That would suck to only have 1 hour of night activities. We are going on a Saturday so maybe they will extend it even though with Dinosaur closed that day I am having a hard time filling in the day.

AK has dumped a ton of time/money into nighttime entertainment, night time safari's and the theatre...it's hard to imagine that all that end's with the summer.

I dont see it going past 9 at the latest personally. since it does get dark earlier

I agree. I see AK's hours kind of lining up with how late HS is usually open for that time of year. AK late night has not really been a smashing success yet, and probably won't be until ROL debuts, and even more so when Pandora opens.

That's crappy. Yes it gets dark earlier, but I would have thought at least 9pm?
If it's 7:30, that blows that day's plan for us as AK was a 1/2 day park for us.

We travel to WDW frequently in Sept/Oct and closing a at 8pm are actually fairly common for DHS so I don't expect this to be much different. F! And Fireworks are often scheduled after park close on these evenings. Similarly EPCOT also closed at 9 but starts Wishes then. It would be good if there was some alternating such that they try to have 1 late hours and 1 EMH park each night there is a MNSSHP - maybe they just need time to figure out which one gets what each night?!? Wishful thinking??

If the only do ROL/JB show and close right after sunset then that eliminates night-time safari, night-time Everest, Night-time entertainment and worst of all Tree of Life Awakenings.
