Well, for the black and white color group I have :

mat 1: 4 1/4 x 6 1/4 bazzill white, 1/16 layer black on a 5 x7 zebra printed paper. It has brad in the corner with a tiny bit of white fiber

mat 2: 4 1/4 x 6 1/4 bazzill white, on 4 1/2 x 6 1/2 black with a piece of zebra ribbon about 3/4 inch from the bottom, anchored with silver brads

And this seems to be what I tend to do over and over again with different combinations of paper and embellishments. Okay -- why didn't I just take a photo and post it? Wait -- I did this same mats for MK swap, it was a Fantasyland page kit. Maybe there is still a link to the photos somewhere.

I am determined to get out of this monotony. Maybe I'll check out pages posted on ebay. There aren't any photos on the mats.

I have two sets of paper now. one is a green/grassy type and the other is an animal print (can't remember what animal). If I can't decide, my group may get two

I was feeling the same way about mats, myself. This swap is the first one that I have done it the way you described.

Normally, I make one side .5-1" wider than the rest, then put something in the extra space...title, ribbon, clipart. Downside to doing this way, is that it can up taking a lot of paper. I try to make sure that one side is less than 6" so I can get at least two of them out of a 12 x 12 page. I normally try to get 3.

You could look in the Sticky for swap pictures and look at some of the older swaps. The Good & Evil, Rare Character, Holiday swaps were all kits, so you can see what other people did.

Thanks Buffy and hopemax. I finished The Oasis last night and I did make a different mat!
Oasis: 2 mats, paper piecing and topper
Color group: 2 mats, tag and squares, file folder and squares (actually these were circles)


I am almost finished Camp Minnie-Mickey. Paper Piecing is done, topper is cut, just need to cut cardstock for the mats, assemble and embellish!

Just cheking in......I have my supplies and my ideas....everything ready to go AFTER I finish the Zoo tag swaps, the show / parade swaps, the out of park swap, work projects, and a few other things!! They'll be there on time, but very close to the due date!!
