We will be there in Feb, with our 23 month old. What are some pointers for staying her, its our first time.
What do I need to know about the rooms (studio) and transportation? what activities do they have around the resort? and some must sees there?

Thanks for any info, Danielle

The pool at Kidani Village has a water splash and play area for the little kids. It was a a quick walk only about 10 minutes from Jambo House.

The animal viewing areas are a must. Our kids loved doing the activities around the pool and at the animal viewing areas. My kids wore night goggles, pretended to be pelicans and flamingoes in an activity about eating habits of animals. Very easy for my two year old too. Loved that the playground area is right by the food (the Mara). My DH took turn watching our youngest run around when she got sick of sitting and eating. . We love Boma for breakfast and dinner, but my kids really loved breakfast. You can do medallion rubbings on the floor of the lobby at certain times during the day. There is so much to do. The pool at Kidani is slightly better for kids because it has a great splash area but Jambo's pool is good too. In February I don't know what swimming will be like anyway. I am sure you will find lots to do. We can't wait to back there in September.

Some of the villas in Jambo House can be a very long way from the elevators. I stayed in a savannah view studio on Zebra Trail and it was quite a hike. To the point where I would think, "When am I ever going to get there???" About midway through the trip you get used to it.

So.....if you don't want to carry your child and all the equipment that goes along with that child all that way......make that request to be near the elevators. :thumbsup2

Have a blast. AKV is outstanding and Jambo House gives you all the benefits of DVC and a Deluxe resort all wrapped up in one. LOVE IT. :goodvibes

The movies by the pool are a lot of fun. When I was there a few months ago, the movies were over past the pool bar. And there used to be cookie making in Boma every afternoon for the children. For adults, there's a tour of Jiko and Boma at 4:00, including free samples. Around that time, there's also a tour over at Sanaa resturant.

We never made it to the culinary tour the last time we were at AKL. I know it begins at 4 pm. About what time does it wrap up?

I planned our visit for next month last summer and I can hardly believe it is now only 6 weeks away!

request to be near transportation or near the elevators near the front entrance we were all the way down at the end and coming pack from the park it was such a long walk to the room. that was the only thing i did not like

There also is a play ground behind the pool area, near where they show movies every night. There are nice areas for animal viewing with comfortable rocking chairs, and a good area where you can walk around to see the animals. Mara is a good counter service, and there are nice shaded tables if you wish to eat outside. The lobby is huge, and there is a comfortable area that shows cartoons on TV. After story time at the fire pit, there is a children's parade every evening where kids select a simple instrument and parade through the lobby playing their instrument. There also is a fun activity in the afternoon where guests are given instruments to represent wind, rain, and something else I've forgotten. A CM tells a story, and guests interact by shaking their instrument at the appropriate time. You'll find plenty to keep your child busy and happy. I think the CMs at Jambo are outstanding with children.
