I was wondering whether it would be possible to see AK in half a day.

Here is my predicament...

I had originally planned to got to AK the day after my wedding (21st Aug). We have the bridal shoot scheduled for 05.00am that morning so we don't intend to have breakfast until 10.00am at Boatwrights (our resort), we then planned on having lunch at Flame Tree BBQ around 1.30 or so. Now, I had originally booked Jiko for 7.30pm but now we have decided we would like to go to The Pirate and Princess Party this night. So I was thinking of rescheduling Jiko for earlier that day (around 6pm). Does this sound alright?

Am I correct in thinking that The Pirate and Princess party begins at 7pm? What would I miss if we were late? I could schedule Jiko for earlier I suppose but I prefer a later eating time.

My only other option for Pirate and Princess Party is the 18th of Aug, however I had planned Epcot on this day and have Les Chefs booked at 12.00pm and Le Cellier booked at 6pm (we all know I can't change the time for this one;) ) plus we planned on seeing Illuminations this night. So it looks like the 21st it is, anyone have any suggestions as how to make this work better for me?

Our party consists of 3 Adults only and I am thinking my mom would really enjoy the firework show, as would I, plus dressing up as a pirate would be great:banana:

P&P begins "formally" at 7pm, but you can get into the MK starting at 4pm (if they continue past practices) so you'll get more time in MK if you go early.

I can't say that you can effectively "do" AK in half a day... you can pick some of the highlights, but you'll likely miss several attractions and/or shows.

I love all the restaurants at WDW... but I might suggest you forego a few of them in favor of more "park time"... that's just me.

I have to agree with Robo. My main priority at WDW is spending time in the parks. While I love to eat good food, it takes second place to being in the parks. Based on that I never do more than one sit-down per day. If I were you I'd cancel Les Chefs on your Epcot day and just lunch around the World Showcase and I'd maybe skip Boatwright's and head to AK a bit earlier.

As to whether or not you can finish AK in one day, I'd say no. Lots of people think it's possible, but if you really plan to hit all the attractions (or even if you skip some of the smaller ones) 1/2 day isn't likely to be enough time.

I agree about AK. You're going at a pretty busy time of the year from what I understand. Even if you go from ride to ride and don't stop for any of the shows, 1/2 a day is pushing it. Plus, half the fun of AK is slowing down your pace and stopping to look at all the wonderful animals and scenery around.

I kind of regret rushing through the park last year, you really miss alot!

Maybe you can find a schedule for the pirate and princess party online so you can get an idea of when the shows and parades will be that night?

That is so funny! My wedding crew is going to the PnP on the 21st too! We fly in on the 18th so no chance of going that night. :(

I would agree that AK may be hard to see in a half day. Last summer we went and we were there from about 8AM (Donald's Breakfastasaurus) to 3PM. Then we pretty much pooped out. Because we had been there before, we didn't see everything. We just did the majors (Everest, Kilimanjaro, Dinosaur) and did some charector greeting. There really is a lot to see and do there.

GL with your dilemma. I am hoping the crowds won't be that bad because it is a week before free dining and the FL kids go back to school on the 20th. I am crossing my fingers!

That day is EXHAUSTING.. You have a photo shoot at 5 AM so you have to be up WHEN? 3 or 4.... Park, two sit down meals and P&P party.... Are you SURE????

This day alone is a 18 hour day without a break except for "fancy" dinner. I would just drop P&P party....

LOL, I know it sounds exhausting, but my mom is only at Disney for a week and I know she would love to see this. However I also know she loves wonderful restaurants too so I am considering just missing the P&P Party. I loved the idea of AKL after the wedding as I figured it would be a chance to relax and take it easy.
