I'm debating which day I should go to these two parks.

If we go to AK first (12/3) and then MGM we can take advantage of EE at both parks and I can be at my favorite park on my birthday (Sat at MGM). However, if the parks will be a lot more crowded in the afternoons I think we should do MGM on that Friday and then AK on Sat.

How is AK on Saturdays? How much of a difference will it make in early December. We would do the rides that have EE, so that would be nice. My mother is not an early riser, but will do what we tell her
;) .

My husband and I were at MGM in early October on a Saturday and it was dead there. Of course that won't be the case now since the parks will be a lot more crowded with the Osborne lights, etc.

Please help me sort this out! Anything else I should consider?

Thanks, T&B

I was going to go to AK on Fri, next week, the 3rd, and was told by Pandy Paws, a Safari CM driver, to do AK on Sat, due to EE on Fri. I do not care for EE myself.

We would be there early enough for the EE openings, but am afraid that the parks (especially MGM on Sat) would be busy enough that we would have a hard time riding rides without long waits. Also, would the Sat Fantasmic be a lot more crowded than Friday night?

I think your best bet is to use the EE both days. The parks will be quite full and you might as well make the best of the extra hour each day.
Plus Friday you could leave and go to MGM for Fantasmic and miss the Saturday crowd.
Have a great time whatever you do on those days.

Think about this. Ak closes a couple of hours before MGM. So even if you stay at AK all day(which is not likely), you can still go to MGM and see fantasmic on Friday. Then you can return to MGM on Saturday for EE, and if you decide to stay all day, you can take advantage of the lessening crwod as people begin to go to Fantasmic. Just something to think about.

If you're going to be there at 8:00 on the EE days, then do AK on Fri and MGM on Sat. If not, do it the other way around.

I'm not sure that we would get back over to MGM that first night, but we'll be there enough days that we can catch Fantasmic another night if we can't last until late on Saturday night (after EE). We also want to go to Boma for dinner and would probably do that on our AK day. With my Mom with us we will be going at a totally different pace than when my sister and I go with only my son. Even if we get worn out from those 2 long days, the third day is scheduled at a rest day/move resorts so we can sleep in that day.

Since 1 week of our trip will be at an offsite timeshare it's not as if we will be going to EE that week, so maybe we should do them these first 2 days.

I don't know why I'm being so wishy washy!

I agree and if we do plan on the EE parks we will be there before the EE opening. We'll wake my mom up and tell her to get dressed and be out the door at whatever time we think we should be there (actually, we'll tell her 15 minutes before we really want to leave... ;)

Do the EE's at both parks, but be prepared to park hop later in the afternoon. If you don't like taking the bus between parks, you can always just hop on over to Epcot on Saturday via boat or walking.
