Ak- evening extra magic hours ques.

It appears that AK has extra evening magic hours on the wednesday that we are there...what hours will this be? it appears the park usually closes at 5pm. I'm a little worried the park will be so busy with the extra hours...anyone think its worth going to? I have a 2 and 4 year old so we are mostly interested in Camp minnie-mickey and dinoland.

Thanx for any help...i'm clueless on how to plan our time and a little over whelmed with having to decide where to make resev. for eating etc. for the week.

The AK evening EMH hours were the only ones that we found were not that busy, when we were there last May. The park will stay open with selected rides and attractions running for 3 hours after posted closing time, for resort guests. (The only exception to this would be the Safari,it usually stays open till like 6:30 pm on EMH nights, check posted schedules.) You will need to show your room cards and obtain a wristband. During May most attractions were a walk on during evening EMH. Have a great trip.

We did it in September and it was really neat being in AK after dark. I had always wanted to see it like that. The rides weren't too crowded but late September nothing really is. The animals were the best though because as the sun got less strong they got a lot more active. I enjoyed it.

We were there in June during a pretty busy time and EMH (evening) at AK was really nice. The crowds were very, very low and the safari was especially nice since they took a lot longer to get through and they stopped for you to take pictures. I even asked a CM about the crowds and they said EMH (evenings) are usually light. It felt like we had the park to ourselves!!!

another one...I thought i read that MK is usually pretty light the day after a EMH (evening) day. Anyone agree or disagree? Also, what should i expect EMH (am) at MK..stay away?

While it is true that a lot of people do EMH at MK, it is also true that you can get a lot done in that extra hour. We have been able to get on Dumbo, Peter Pan, etc. without too much trouble. You have to remember that it is just resort guests and those of us who don't mind getting up early. We always hit EMH and have always been very fortunate on the rides that we could get on.
