Hi!

My son and I will be at AK on Saturday, August 18th. It appears as though they have added an hour to the morning with emh starting at 7:00. Not sure how I feel about that, but it is what it is. I guess we will just have to get up earlier! My original plan was to go to Na'vi and then Kilamanjaro Safari. So here's the question... Will the safari ride be open that early? I would think we should have little or no wait at Na'vi if we are there at opening so hopefully we will be at the safari ride by 7:15 or shortly after that.

Thanks!

1. Maybe. (It doesn't appear that they have updated the attraction times to reflect the 7AM EMH for Aug. 18, yet.)
2. Likely.

Any idea when they will update the attraction times? I guess it doesn't really matter. If the safari ride doesn't open at 7:00 would it be best to head to Expedition Everest first or the Dinosaur area?

It doesn't really matter. 7AM EMHs are so empty ((with the exception of HS right now)I'm so jealous that you get to experience one!) and so many people will be riding FOP anyway that after Navi, you'll be able to ride Everest and Dino at least 2 times each if you want without waiting. And even though it's closer, I would not do Safari directly even after Navi because the Safari takes so long. You can get multiple other rides done in the time that it would take to do 1 Safari. Take advantage of the shorter lines first while most other people are still waking up and getting moving.

Thank you for the advice. We don't have a FP for the Safari and it is a "must do" so if we ride Na'vi, then the rides in dinoland as well as Expedition Everest, what time would you suggest getting there to still have minimal wait? 8:00? 8:30? 9:00?

What are your FPs for?

I actually just changed them. I dropped Dinosaur and picked up Na'vi. So this is what I have. Do you think it looks like too much? Park opens and 7:00 and we will be there at opening.

Dinosaur
Primeval Whirl
Triceratops Spin
Kilamanjaro Safari
Gorilla Falls Exploration trail
Na’vi (FP 8:50- 9:50)
It’s Tough to Be A Bug
EE (FP 10:10- 11:10)
11:00 Lion King
11:30 Lunch @ quick service
Kali River Rapids (FP 12:10- 1:10)

Think it's too much for 6 hours? Lion King will eat up a bunch of time, but I hope to get through the first things quickly.

It's quite a bit of walking and some back tracking... It's just two of us so we can navigate pretty quickly but my son is 9 years old. It's the first day of our trip so hopefully he'll have quickness in his feet!

We went last year for EMH in the am and easily got on the safari and Everest. The safari was great early in the morning. We didn't go to Pandora cause it was crazy but maybe some of that has died down. On the plus side it made the rest of the park empty.

As you said, that is a lot of walking. I would save Gorilla Falls for later. It will be hotter later, yes, but I’m going back to getting more rides done early in the day that will build a wait. Gorilla falls won’t. Do Everest after you’re done in Dino land. I don’t know what FPs are still available, but is it possible to get something like this?

Dinoland as outlined above
Everest standby
Kali FP
Safari FP
Navi FP

That has you going more in only one direction. If it’s not possible, what you have outlined I think is still fine. I’d say it is doable. Just a lot of walking
