We only have one day out of 7 where we will be at Animal Kingdom the week of Christmas so we are devoting a full day to it. With that said, here is what I have reserved: Lunch at Tiffins at 12:15pm and Dinner at Yak and Yeti at 5pm. My question is: should I keep the Tiffins lunch? It seems pretty pricey and might slow us down. My family (boys are 12 and 9) does enjoy a good meal though and the opportunity to relax in the midst of a busy day. I just don't want to burn the $$$ and time if it is not worth it especially since Satu'li Canteen looks really yummy. Thoughts?

Two TS meals will take up a large part of your day, and I’m not sure I’d be hungry again at 5 if I had lunch at Tiffins. I too would have lunch at Satu’li Canteen (one of the best QS at WDW, IMHO) and dinner at Tiffins, our favorite TS at WDW.

Agree, we never do 2 TS in 1 day. One will be TS and one CS or for F&W, graze through the kiosks.

Tiffins isn’t one of those omg I am so stuffed places. Satu’l Canteen and Flame Tree are super good. I would do QS for lunch and pop over to AKL (super short bus ride) to hit Boma if you are big eaters. See the Christmas decorations in the lobby plus the animals.

I would recommend (as everyone else has above) Satu'li Canteen for lunch over Tiffins. The food is great at Tiffins is great, but you're definitely burning money and time with two TS meals in one day.

We did Tiffins for lunch this past June and it was underwhelming (everyone requested we don’t do it this trip); too salty and my well done steak was charred too much and dry like a hockey puck (we ate at Topolinos the night before so we know what a good well done steak should be cooked like). The waiter just shrugged and said that happens if you order well done (I only ate a few bites and shared another entree). It was nice inside and slow paced but for us it was just ok; not worth the time or money. The fish, octopus and lamb were great though, as was the dessert (in my profile photo).

We always do Boma for dinner whether we stay at AKL or not.

Between Tiffins and Yak and Yeti I’d drop Y+Y and go all in for Tiffins at dinner time. Never eaten at Satuli but it gets a lot of rave reviews. We tend to have one TS per day and find it enough to keep us happy. Easy to grab a snack if someone is hungry earlier in the day.

I would try to do dinner at Tiffins. It's much more of a dinner place to me. As for lunch, I would go for quick service at Satu'li Canteen.

I would do Satu'li or if you're into BBQ, Flame Tree. I really liked the noodle bowls at Satu'li with the beef - delicious!

AK is my favorite QS place. I’m a sucker for Flame Tree Barbeque. Good food, decent quantity and price.

I would also suggest either Satu’li or Flame Tree for lunch and then stick with Yak and Yeti for dinner. Y&Y is one of my favorite TS restaurants in WDW.

Yak and yeti, while well prepared food and great staff, was very underwhelming. Tusker House was a great option. Also if you have very picky eaters-and while I know they reopened idk if this is back yet-Pizzafari has this dinner package for I think 8 people it’s a family style ceaser salad and a family style caprese salad. Then you get a couple of family style pastas and a pizza and then a huge plate of cannolis. While it is stereotypical theme park fare, it was all cooked and prepared really well and we felt it was worth the price, especially since we went in on a whim

As you can see, most people are pretty divided on Tiffins--most either love it or think the quality isn't even close to the price point (I happen to be in the latter camp).

It honestly depends on your personal preferences. Most people like Satu'li canteen, as there are relatively healthy options and pretty much everything is delicious. FlameTree BBQ can be hit or miss quality, but good quantity for the money. AKL restaurants are all very good. Sanaa has been harder to book than Boma; Boma is buffet and not a great value if you have light eaters.

Also take into consideration that AK has lots of great snack options normally, so for light eaters lots of smaller options.

It's been a few years since we did Tusker House/Tiffins, so not sure how the quality stands in the last year or so.

Thanks everyone for the feedback… very helpful! Will forgo the Tiffins lunch for a yummy CS and plan on Y&Y for dinner. I have not seen a Tiffins dinner reservation pop up once since I started booking but will keep looking in case I want that option.

Cancel Tiffins. Overpriced and blah inside. Do Satuli Canteen for lunch and keep Yak & Yeti for dinner.
Agreed, go to Yak and Yeti. Been to Tiffins 5 times and never had a good experience. Everything is subjective of course as many people adore Tiffins.

Personally, id rather eat at any of the 3 animal kingdom lodge restaurants (boma, Jiko, sanaa) over Tiffins.

Tiffins is our favorite TS on property. If you want to listen to anyone who orders their steak "well done was overcooked" that's up to you. We always try to fit it, or Nomad, into ever trip.

That said, I wouldn't do it for lunch and then Yak and Yeti for dinner. It's a lot of food. I would try and get Tiffins for dinner. Then do either Satu'lli or flame tree for lunch. It seems the only thing that's avoided inflation is the WDW ribs and chicken combo. I think it's been $15 for a decade so flame tree is always on my best deals of WDW list.

If you really want Yak n Yeti, wait to u get home and go to a mall ( if they still have those) and go to panda express. Same thing
