We just got our waitlist for Club level the night before our cruise. We have never stayed concierge and have lots of questions. What is all included? Is it worth the extra points? If we get there at 8 in the morning, will we still get access before check in time? For those who have stayed at universal club level, which would you choose?
Thanks

We have checked in at 8am and had access immediately.

They have a continental breakfast, tea, appetizers around dinner time, dessert & cordials in the evening.

They will make dining reservations for you. Our last stay, I waited too late to make dining reservations and could not get anything booked on my own. When we checked in, I told them what I was looking for and they got me Chef Mickey's that night and the Wishes dessert party for the following night. We had great seats at the dessert party, too.

We just stayed there for the 1st time on 2/25 before our cruise. It was fantastic. We got access to the lounge right away even though our rooms weren't ready yet. There were afternoon snacks, evening beer and wine. Appetizers and then late night desserts.

It was a great splurge for one night as we also did the sunrise safari (highly recommend) but I would have a hard time justifying the points for a longer stay.

There is also turn down service, and they put chocolates on your pillow (its the little things :) ). The food offerings were quite delicious. My DSiL did stay concierge level at the Hard Rock at Universal, she enjoyed it, but when we discussed the food offerings I got the distinct feeling that AK Concierge offered more hot food items, and a more varied breakfast offering.

You also have access to the Morning Safari. We did this last October and LOVED it!

I'm doing the Sunrise Safari in two weeks (3/20). It's on Thursdays and Sundays. We are supposed to meet at 6:45 am, and it looks like to tour will take about 90 minutes followed by a buffet breakfast at Pizzafari. It should be over by about 9:30. They pick you up at the beginning but you're on your own getting back to the resort (buses). The bus from AK to AKL obviously should only take 5 minutes. So it should be doable pre-cruise. You should call the concierge and get their thoughts, and they'll reserve you if it's still available.

How do I book the safari? Do I call MS? How far in advance can I book? Our reservation is for 9/10.

Oh yes, you'll be able to enjoy the breakfast offerings as soon as you check in.
I like the CL and have it for my April trip.

180 days in advance, so it should be this week. If your email address is on account, you should be getting an email from the AK concierge in the next few days. Otherwise, there's a direct number to the concierge, which you can find on the disneyworld site if you search "sunrise safari."

I forgot to mention that, in addition to the $65 per person charge, you also have to have a park pass for that day.

...just think about it: This is the only place in Disney to get such accomodations (like maybe 1 out of 10,000 rooms!)

I'm on the waiting list for a one bedroom club level the Sunday after Easter. I'm not holding my breath, but I would love to be able to stay there! I'm hoping for the best!

When is the sunrise safari? (time and day?). Our cruise departs on sunday. How much is it? Any other special tours?

We did the safari on 02/27 before we left for the cruise. We ran late waiting to load onto the safari trucks so by the time we got back to the hotel it was about 10:30am. We still made it to the Port by 12:30 (after packing up etc)

It was an amazing experience. The actual safari was over 60 min on the Savana plus the bus takes you backstage so you get all kinds of behind the scenes info. Our guides were extremely knowledgeable. The breakfast was also excellent. Better than some food we've had at $25 character breakfasts we have been to.

We stayed AK concierge last April for 2 nights and LOVED it!! I would definitley stay there again. We usually stay in a 2 bedroom, but this was a very last minute trip and they had an opening in a 1 bedroom here. There must have been a last minute cancellation. The points were about the same for a 2 bedroom BCV vs a 1 bedroom AKL concierge. Definitley worth it! After these two nights we stayed at the BC concierge. There was no comparison between the two. We were spoiled by the AK concierge!

We usually do the dining plan when we stay, but since we booked concierge and leaving for a cruise the next day, will the concierge food offerings be enough?

The food is great at the AKL concierge lounge. We had a wonderful time. You can access it when you get in. Do the sunrise safari if you can; it's so worth it.

In terms of whether the food is enough to account for a meal.. I don't think so. It's great for continental bfast and snacks, but definitely not a lunch or dinner meal replacement. That being said, the dining plans coupled with concierge food is way too much. I always laugh when people stay concierge and get the Deluxe DDP. Way too much food. At least I couldn't eat that much.

I would not do the Dining Plan and Concierge. Try the concierge lounge for appetizers and drinks at dinner time and see how you feel. You may just want to grab something light after that. Breakfast is very good and filling. Remember the cruise and all of the food you will be eating there!

Breakfast was very good. Mid- days and afternoon snacks just ok, early evening appetizers were very good. And any time especially evening the beer selections and wine was great. With the exception of breakfast, we did not feel the club level can replace a lunch or dinner but then again never expected it to.

Worth it due to access to Sunrise Safari but really hard to justify the point jump, unless your someone who refuses to cook on vacation.

We usually get 1 bdr, and do enjoy family time in room with a hand full of meals cooked.

I think people in club level studios can really make out the best.
