AK Close at 8PM but ROL at 8:45?

Hi, all -
Going in April 2018 and hoping to see Pandora in the dark but the posted closing time for AK is 8PM and the sun won't set until about 7:45. However, ROL is listed at 8:45 - 45 minutes after park close?
I haven't seen this at any other park. Does the whole park close and everyone just goes and gets in line for ROL for 45 minutes?
Was hoping to stay in Pandora longer...what's the deal?

Very common.
Happens very often at DHS' Fantasmic!
Although the show-start timing is "normally" 30 minutes after "park closing time."

All ride entrances close at the posted closing time.
But, show guests will nearly all be standing in line by that time, or already in the theater.

Don't overlook that it is ALSO quite possible that they will extend the park's closing time that night as the date gets closer.

Wouldn't be surprised to see closing hours changing to 9. Or at least 8:30
