AK and morning EMH question

In our last 4 or 5 trips we have followed the advice of Josh and avoided the park with the morning EMH. However for our upcoming November trip, I began to re-think that for AK, given the popularity of FOP. If we are unable to get FP for this, is it still best to avoid AK on those days? We are at the parks at opening anyway, so the early rising part would not be a factor.

If early rising is not a factor, then I recommend being at the front of the EMH rope drop crowd. Outside of FP, that's your best chance of avoiding a multi hour wait at FOP.

If you're on site and have park hoppers I would definitely take advantage of AM emh. I'd only avoid if you couldn't park hop after it's busy

And, to be at the front of the EMH rope drop crowd you have to get there quite a bit before park opening. 7:30 (for an 8am EMH)? Earlier?

We are doing an AK AM EMH morning in a few weeks, but we are not planning on doing Pandora until later with a FP so won't have to worry about fighting the crowds.

I remember one Christmas trip we were at the bus stop at 6:00. Now THAT was a little early for vacation but we did it anyway!

Yes, staying on-site with PH

I have this question too. We'll be there Monday, EMH is 8am. What time should aim to arrive?

If you are staying on site and have park hoppers or AP then you should for sure be doing EMH. My DGD and I just did this a few weeks ago at Epcot. In the first hour and 15 minutes we were able to manage FEA, Soarin' and Test track (single rider). After a turn on SE, we hopped to DHS where we found lower early morning crowds and shorter lines.

Based on all of these comments, I think we will opt for the morning hours and since we have PH, purchase the Express Bus service to hop over to the other park(s) of the day.

We got there around 6:45 and it worked out wonderfully. Essentially walked on to FOP, although the crowd was a bit nuts. Walked us back, but still lots of pushing, running, shoving. Whatever - it worked. I wish people would chill though. Scary for kids around us (and us, too, actually.)

we did AK EMH the last week of August. We parked in the lot around 645. We were 5th at our tapstile. We made it on to FoP with the second group to ride and were off a little after 8. I didn't notice too many people running. the crowd at emh has to get their bands scanned to confirm they are staying at a resort and that tends to string the crowd out. i was pleasantly surprised at how calm things were and even the walk back to FoP wasn't too bad. A few people might pass you here and there but it won't make a material difference with when you get on anyway.
