Airtran time change question....

Ok so yesterday I was inquiring about using the airtran coupons to save on my already booked flights. I can't use them cause I already booked but I did check my flight times to see if anything had changed (because apparently if THEY change the time from what I originally booked I can get a refund) and low and behold their is a 4 minute time change. Silly yes...only 4 minutes but if I can rebook and save 100.00, I will do it.

My question is....does it have to be a certain amount of minutes difference to cancel and rebook?

Please don't flame....just a question.

I wondered that as well. My change was only 15 minutes. I decided to call to see if my flight could be cancelled because of the time change. The representative cancelled my flight and credited my credit card without any questions. I then rebooked using the voucher. Hope that helps!

4 minutes might be a little slim, I am not sure about a refund. There was a 15 minute change and they allowed me to change the date and airport, just had to keep the same people on the reservation.

If you do it, make sure the flight price hasn't changed. You'd have to pay the current price for rebooking.

I would just apply the coupon after the fact for seat selection or upgrade and consider it great that I got $76 refunded on the card.

I think 4 minutes is really pushing their generosity and things like that will likely cause them to become more inflexible over time.

Usually Airtran will send an email notifiying you of a time change on your itinerary, and you have to respond and let them know if you accept it or if you want to change flights. This happened to me recently for our flight home from Disney this September. I think the time change was maybe a 45 minute difference - and I was able to change to a completely different day with NO charge. Now we will enjoy an extra night in Disney!

Not sure if you can call up and change something without them letting you know that you are eligible to do so. But it doesn't hurt to try.

I already selected my seats.....can I somehow change my seat selection and than apply it?
