I am flying from Bloomington, IL to Orlando on Easter (April 24), and I booked my ticket @ $145 + taxes in September (one-way). My son is going to join me, and this afternoon I bought his ticket @ $173 + taxes. I got an e-mail this evening about sale fares for flights through Nov. 2, but figured it wouldn't apply to Easter weekend. I checked any way, and the fare for our flights is now $124 + taxes! I called to get a credit for my son's flight, and only after hanging up realized the sale fare was lower than what I booked last fall, so called back and got an additional $21 credit. I now have $70 in credit, and that will cover the $69 business class upgrade for my son! I already had an upgrade voucher that I planned to use, so it will be nice that he can join me. Who would've known that the fare would drop less than 3 weeks before Easter!

**Just wanted to add that the fare on Tuesday, April 26 is $94 + taxes, down from $138!

Thank you for posting this information and the update. Hopefully, someone will be able to benefit.

Not my airfare!! I'm flying out June 1 from Moline, IL....and I'm glad I bought a couple months ago. It is now 500 round trip!!! :scared1::scared1::scared1: I check it everyday and it hasn't dropped for a month!!! Glad you found some deals!

That's a shame! I noticed the best fares were for travel on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, but I was very surprised the fare also dropped on Easter Sunday.

Who gave you the rebate? Airtran? travel agent?...we also fly from BMI and are waiting for june to drop.....just for a return flight.

I just booked for Columbus Day weekend and it was $79 one way Philly to Orlando)! How happy am I right now!

The credit is for future AirTran travel, and not a refund to your credit card. It has to be used within one year of when you originally booked your flight(s).

It used to be nice when the AirTran BMI to MCO flights were $89 and even sometimes $79. Now for our next 2 trips they are $173 with an occasional $124 return at terrible times. It's driving for use now. Yeah I know it takes more time, but we enjoy road trips.

My Dec. 2009 flights to Orlando from BMI were $69 + taxes each way! I paid $109 for Dec. 2010, and $145/$173 for this Easter - until the $124 sale a few days ago. The lowest AirTran fares now between BMI and MCO are $94 + taxes each way. I managed to snag a $71 (March 9) and a $79 (May 2) one-way fare from MCO-BMI on Delta last fall.

We also snagged a few $69 fares to Orlando 3+ years ago, but nothing that good for some time.

We also love the Bloomington airport convenience (small, not crowded, free parking, 45 min away, etc.), but we've been flying Airtran out of Indy for a few years now because of cheaper fares, several non-stops a day to MCO at times that are very convenient fo us. Wish Bloomington had more non-stops to MCO.

Same here. Several direct from Indy and lower fares..., but love BMI's convience.:thumbsup2

I usually go to WDW solo. By the time I pay to park at Indy for a week or more, any savings over leaving from BMI vanish. We have flown out of Indy when there were 2 or more of us traveling together, but I rarely do that for a solo trip.

Thanks for this thread! I didn't think AirTran did this. My flight did drop a little bit. A little bit of money goes a long way. I'm going to call and see if I can get a "credit" for mine. I'd love to have a little to put towards an upgrade.
