Does anyone have experience using AirTran rewards? Thanks in part to the Wendy's promotion, we have enough credits for me and DH to each get a one way flight. As far as I understand, I need to request my vouchers online and then when I get the numbers (in 1-2 days) I have to call to get the tickets. Here are my questions:

Does it really take 1-2 days to get the voucher numbers?

Will they tell me on the phone if there are any reward seats available on the flights we're looking at? If there aren't, I won't request my vouchers until closer to when the credits expire so that I will have more time to get my free flights.

How will it work with DH and I each having one way booked on rewards and the other way paid for and DS having both ways paid for? Will all the reservations be linked?

Can you still check in on-line 24 hours in advance with the reward ticket?

I can not answer all of your questions but when I went to book our flights I was on the phone and the internet at the same time.

I called to see what flights had seats on them and then the lady there helped me get to the voucher numbers. It literally took seconds for my vouchers numbers to come up. I was able to book while still on the phone to the same lady. :thumbsup2

Yes you can call and see what flights have seats on them but be aware that the numbers change very rapidly and what it there one second my be gone the next. Book as far ahead as you possibly can.

I found a slight corelation between the cheapest ticket prices on line and what was still available to be booked with frequent flyer vouchers. If the flight you are looking at does not list the cheaper internet fare on line then chances are there are no seats left.

Yes you check in on line 24 hours in advance with the reward ticket. Once you book the ticket, it is really just like you paid full price for it. You will pay a small booking fee or a security fee or something like that. I think it was $5 a ticket for us.

We certainly enjoyed our Wendy's/Coke/AirTran tickets. I hope they do it again this fall! We certainly ate a lot of our meals at Wendy's! :thumbsup2
