We will be 3 traveling. When I put in 3 adults the cheapest flight for the date I need is $117 but when I put in either 2 or 1, I get the same flight for $89. Does anyone know why the difference?

Because there's only 2 seats left at the lower price and the third seat is available at $117.

Right. Open two browser windows. Buy the two $89 tickets at $89. Buy the third ticket in the second window at the $117.
