We're looking to try AT instead of SW this trip and I was wondering if there is much difference when you fly out of Newark instead of Philly? We're about 20 minutes closer to Newark but have never flown out of there.

Never flown Airtran out of Newark..... But flying Airtran out of Philly is my favorite airline to fly. I prefer them over SW. The Airtran terminal is much nicer at philly than the one southwest uses.

All I can say here is, I give Airtran an A+ rating in Philly.

Another mom just mentioned to me that she has flown JetBlue out of Newark instead of AT. Is there much difference between the 2 airlines and SW??

With me it pretty much comes down to the airline that offers the best rate. Although I really prefer Airtran, if Southwest offers better rates I will chose them.

Good Luck.... they really are all the same. Go with the best rates or flight schedules that meet your needs.

We have been flying Continental non-stop out of Newark to Orlando. They have more frequent flights, and they provide a small snack on certain flights. Their prices have been the same as Jet Blue and cheaper than AirTran.
Be aware that the parking rates at Newark are more expensive than Philadelphia. We use Avistar off-site parking. DH won't fly out of PHL because he doesn't like the drive back, he always makes the wrong turn coming off the bridge from PA to NJ and gets lost. EWR is only 20 minutes from our home, PHL is 1 1/2 hours.
