Has anyone else had problems with the airtran online check in not working? I get to the point where i have to put in credit card info to pay for my extra bag, and I get an error everytime when I try to pay. I've tried mine and my friends card, as well on different computers at different houses. I get this message after my first attempt:

Unable to pay for your excess bags. Please try another credit card or Click "Cancel".

    Then trying again, i get:

There was a problem processing your request.
We are unable to complete your check-in at this time.

Please proceed to the airport for check-in.

Anyone else have this problem??? I only care because it's only $10 if you check your bag online, but $20 if you do it at the airport. I hope they will only charge me $10 at the airport, since this is an error on their part.

Yup. Happened to me coming home last year. My dad checked himself and my mom in with no problems, but when I tried from the same computer minutes later, I got the exact same message as you did. This was before the extra bag fee. To this day, I have no idea what happened, as we checked in without incident at the airport the next day. I was glad that we'd paid for reserved seats, because I would have been really annoyed not to have been able to confirm our seats before getting to the airport.

I would bring documentary proof of the problem you had, to help convince them to sub in the lower online fee for the higher at-airport fee.

Generally, online system are much more prone to service interruption between 5PM and 8AM (local time for the system's installation). That problem could be caused by any number of things.

This happened to me as well. What I did was call 1-800-AIRTRAN right away and they put a "note" on my itinerary so that when I got to the airport, I only had to pay $10.
