Yes they will change you to another flight at no charge ... even one day in either direction (we have done this twice for our May/June trip.)
It is crazy but I know that all airlines have this happen ... At least Airtran will try to work with you and if you are still not happy give you a refund.
We fly airtran and I like them but I do watch my flights daily for changes so that I can make the best choices for my family ... it is frustrating at times but airtran is the only carrier that has non-stops out of my city.
