I just realized they changed my flight time! AHHH! :headache: Just when I thought I had it all pretty much planned, I HAPPEN to check a confirmation on my seats that I chose yesterday, note NOT a fight confirmation email, and I see the times are different! Instead of getting in to Orlando at 2:18, the arrival was going to be 8:15! Just lost a whole night (not to mention my BIRTHDAY night). I did call AirTran directly and they were able to change my flight to an earlier arrival for no charge (since it was their schedule change). So all is well. My advice: those of you flying on AirTran in the future, check your confirmation! I did not receive an email about the schedule change.

I have the same problem!!! Just booked a few days ago, was originally supposed to arrive at 3:17 pm, now we're arriving 8:37 pm?? (I just HAPPENED to check) I didn't receive an email either. That's a complete waste of a day. I made ADRs already and everything :sad2:

I'll be giving them a call....

Update...

Just got off the phone...they were very nice and changed me to an earlier flight. Now I'm getting there before noon! That's earlier than my original flight...

So all is well for me now too! :goodvibes

I think I can add "ditto" & "ditto". In my case, we had originally booked a flight from Philadelphia for 9/29 departing at 11:48 and arriving at 2:18. After about a month or so, they changed that same flight to leave at 12:50(ish) & arrive at 3:15(ish). Ok, not great, but, not awful. Today, that same flight was changed to departing at 5:58pm (6 hrs, 10 minutes later than originally booked) & arriving at 8:37pm.

I called Airtran and spoke to a very pleasant fellow who agreed that since they'd changed their schedules, we could be changed to the 9:25AM & arriving at 11:46AM, or 2 minutes before we were originally scheduled to depart. Works for us! & the guy did make sure our return flight hadn't changed (it hadn't), but also made sure to tell us that if either flight changed again and didn't work out "right", call them, they'd reschedule us again, if needed.

AirTran must have redid their Philly-Orlando flights because they changed one of mine too. On the return trip, MCO-PHL, the departure time changed from 12:40 pm to 2:15. No biggie though, maybe get to sleep in a little longer or hit the pool before we leave.

Air Tran isn't the only one doing this. Flying from NYC to MSP, Delta changed me from 2 flights to *4* flights.:headache: I got it back to 2, but with a stop in ATLANTA (South instead of West).

To start making $$$ again, it seems like almost all airlines are canceling flights when they aren't full enough. Makes it a real PITA to fly these days...

Just checked mine! It looks like our Southwest flights for July/August are still on schedule.
Thanks for the heads up. :thumbsup2

Later...........Syndrome

Airtran changes their schedule periodically. You will find that you will not get an e-mail notification when they make the change unless it is close to your departure date. So if you have a flight for September they would not be sending an e-mail until say August.
Also....your new flight may go through some changes before your departure date. When I book with Airtran I check their schedules every Sunday, that seems to be when they make their big changes.

unfortunately, this is one of the main reasons we are going to switch over to SW.

My DSs flights in early Jan. changed a 1/2 hour EARLY less than a week before the trip; glad we checked one final time.

That happened to me before on Alaska, but it was only an hour, so I just left it! If it would have been several, I would have been so bummed!

Yup, just checked mine as I do periodically and they have us leaving MCO at 9:50 am instead of 4:20 -- can't lose a whole day out of a short 4-day trip so I'm off to call em. Found Jetblue for $30more, still stinks though.

Continental did the same thing to us....Fortunatly all is still okay. Our arrival flight gets in earlier on Sunday but our departure has also been moved up for Saturday. Oh well, better than the other way around.

Airtran had a nonstop two hours, 20 minutes earlier so I opted for that but it still stinks. I checked all the airlines and couldn't switch for less than $30pp which is $120 for us -- this is an unexpected trip that I want to keep cheap:thumbsup2

I asked the rep if they added another nonstop on at the 4-6 pm time which we orginally had would I be able to change again free? She said yes but I won't hold my breath. I'll just hope that they change our departure time a little later (or a lot later after the SW flights drop a little more).

One of the reasons I never book Delta anymore is because they constantly change flight times and it gets burdensome. I spend a lot of time finding good priced flights that work for us time-wise and it really upsets me to have to redo the research over and over and then settle for less than I had to begin with but like most others, we have little choice. I had just hoped that Airtran was different, more like JetBlue and Southwest but I guess not.

& the guy did make sure our return flight hadn't changed (it hadn't), but also made sure to tell us that if either flight changed again and didn't work out "right", call them, they'd reschedule us again, if needed.

I KNEW I shouldn't have posted my experience here! I KNEW IT I KNEW IT I KNEW IT!!! Why, you might ask?

Today I logged onto Airtran's website just to make sure that the guy had put the reservation "right" for the morning flight. Sure enough, he did. BUT, while last night the return flight was all set, this morning we've been moved from a 9:16PM nonstop to Philly, arriving at 11:39PM to instead an 8:40 PM to Atlanta, arriving at 10:10PM, change planes in Atlanta, & departing from Atlanta at 10:55PM to arrive in Philly at 12:52AM.

Now, I have to get back on the phone (TOMORROW, when I'm hoping NOT having the *3rd* Monday in a row!) and see what, if anything, we can do. Looking at the schedule, though, I'm NOT exactly "thrilled" with the options. I'll try to figure it out when I'm having a hopefully better day (sigh). Unfortunately, the last nonstop flight back to Philly is now 3PM :headache:

I just noticed my dep. time from Orlando is the same but now there is a stop in Georgia, so our flight doesn't arrive in dtw until 10pm, it's an hour later than our original. Will they let me change it to the next morning's departure from Orlando with no fee or will it have to be the same day?

Ok, was looking at posts on here this morning just happened to see something about airtran clicked on it, and it said to make sure to look at your flight. Well, guess what our flight was canceled and we had no clue. Anyway, the day we leave it only changed about 10 minutes (no big deal). The day we were to come home......a 5 hour difference the flight was supposed to leave MCO at 8:40 and arrive in Philly at 10:22. Now they dont have a nonstop flight (unless we leave MCO at 3:00pm) which would ruin our whole day. They have a connecting fligth at 8:40(Ithink) and arrive in Philly at 12:52 am!!! Not an option for us wich a 2 year old and a 5 year old. I called Disney and at first she was just like no big deal. She just asked me if I wanted to switch my flight to the 3pm flight! I didnt know what to say. Then finally I got threw to her. She gave me a few options. Either get a full refund for the air and re book another airline, swicth the times to either 3 or 10pm, or stay an extra night and leave the next day on a more convient flight. Well I was just thinking ok one more day in Disney :yay: well it would be $163.00 for an additional night. I called hubby at work and he said do it. Disney called me back a few minutes later with the flights for the next day. We picked to leave at 12:08. ANyway, DIsney just made out! Because Airtran cancelled these flights. DO I make any sense?
