Airtran flight changes and refund ?

Is it true that if Airtran changes my flight time that I can cancel the flight and get a full refund? I know that you can't just change it like SW, but I thought that you could do it if the time was changed... Thanks for any help!

In the past, yes, AirTran has allowed for a refund if the flight change was substantial (usually in excess of 90 minutes), as do most airlines. But there is nothing preventing them from changing this policy in the future as it is neither a right under the contract of carriage or the fare policy, outside of buying a refundable ticket.

They will let you change flights easily if they make any adjustments to your original flight times. I was able to switch us to an eariler non stop flight simply because they changed our original flight by 20 minutes.

We just received a full refund for flights that were booked in October for next week. The flight times had changed a couple of times, only by an hour and half or so. But we managed to find much better direct flights from Seattle for cheaper, so canceled with no questions asked. In fact I was really surprised at how easy it was.

Our flight to MCO was originally scheduled for 5:55pm and I paid $59 for it. I wanted the morning non-stop (11:32am) but it was $99 at the time so I opted to save the $160 for the four of us. Well, AT changed our flight time...to 6:07pm...all of 12 minutes! I called and politely asked if I could change to the morning flight (now priced at $209!) expecting to hear a "no". I figured it couldn't hurt to ask. The agent never hesitated to change us for no additional charge! I just started our call with, "Our flight was changed and I was wondering if you could get us on a different flight that day?" The guy asked me for our original departure date and then asked me which flight I would like. It was painless! I love AirTran!
