Airtran Credit question

I have some credits that are going to expire...not travel credits, but rewards credits. I have the option to renew it, but I was wondering....do I have to book before it expires, or do I have to travel before it expires? I can't find the answer on their website. Thanks!

You have to book or use them before they expire I do believe. If you book using credits and then fly later that is okay. If you use them for upgrades (Business class, luggage fees), then you have to use the credits before they expire.
Best thing to do would be to call Air Tran and ask. You won't find anything about credits on their website.

You can turn the credits into a business class upgrade certficate before they expire but use the certificate after that. I think the certificates are valid for a year, but I'm not sure because I always use them right away.

If I can just book the flight, I'm fine with that. I just won't be able to fly by the expiration date. Waiting for my SW rewards to appear so I can transfer them and book my flights! Would be so much easier if SW finished the conversion in Grand Rapids!
