Airtran Check-in Question

Is there any reason to check-in online ahead of time if you have to check bags and have paid for seat assignments?

I have always flown SW so I alwasy check-in right at the 24 hour mark to get good boarding passes. This is my first time with AT. Any reason to check-in ahead that I am missing? TIA!

Last time we flew with them was to Tampa a few years ago. We did the online check-in on our way there but we didn't have computer access for our trip home. When we got to the Tampa airport we had to use the kiosk there & do the check-in ourselves. It was kind of a pain.

I am wondering too....how do you note a bag to check? at the airport? or beforehand while doing early checkin? I am a little confused plus I forgot to add a couple of birthdates while booking,so I need to add that,but can't find a place on the res. site to add the info......haven't flown AT since they changed things a bit,so I'm confused

I just used the online check in today. I think it's more of a convenience for most people. I paid online for my 3 checked bags, so I don't have to wait in line at the airport to do that. Plus we have a pretty early flight tomorrow am, I don't know how awake I'm going to be, so I like to have everything done before we get to the airport.

We checked in on line and then were able to drop our checked-bags with the curb-side check-in. Easy.

I always try to do on-line check-in. One time we had our seats given away ... they (not Airtran) gave us some story about equipment change, etc. Whatever! Now, I get that boarding pass in advance and then I know I've got a seat on the plane.
