Airtran Check In 24 hrs ahead????

Can I call Airtran before my flight to get seat assignment or doI have to do it online? Traveling with a 5 year old and need a window seat for him.TIA.

Last spring I did try to call and they would not let me get a seat assignment over the phone. Perhaps things have changed in a year but it was a no go last year.

I was thinking the same thing. I will be able to do online check in and print my boarding passes before we leave home, but what about the return trip? Do I just have to get to the airport early enought to check in and choose my seats? I have a 6 year old son that will not handle a 2 hour wait at the airport very well.

Last year we flew AirTran and I checked us in with our confirmation number over the internet at home on the way there- on the way back I had a friend do it for us- you don't need the printable boarding passes with the actual ticket number on them-just your ticket or a boarding pass without a seat assignment.

This year we went through Disney to get our flight so I don't have an Airtran number, I plan on calling to see if I can get one- otherwise I think most people will be accomadating to kids- we have DS6- needs a window seat and DS 9 months old- who will want to sit by him - so I've heard most people will let families sit together...

if you have a confirmation number- just register 24 hours in advance- it is super easy and have a friend do it on the way home for you- not sure how I will handle it without a number this year

Last year guest services at POR was able to choose our seats and print out our boarding passes for us. 2 years ago, we went to a UPS store. It cost us less than $5 for the internet access and to print the boarding passes. We were renting a house that year, so we couldn't use guest services.

Good, I was thinking about asking if the front desk could help us with that. We are staying at Amerisuites on I-drive. I wonder if they would help us? Or if they have internet access in the lobby or something. I will figure something out.
If I have my confirmation number for my flight, thats all i need to check in for the return flight home? What if seats are all gone? lol..I worry about everything.

No worries!! I promise they won't run out of seats. Call Amerisuites before you leave to make sure they can help you out. If all else fails, you can check in at the airport before your departure and get pick your seats at that time. Have a great trip!!
