Airtran A+ Rewards

I am not sure that I understand completely how Airtran's A+ reward program works. When you book a flight and then fly, they will credit your account for the flight. Do they credit your whole families' flights to one number? Or does everyone need their own A+ number, even the children? I am a little confused when I booked the flights I didn't see a place to put in A+ numbers for each individual person.

They each need their own. Go get them email addys and the reg them yourself using their email addys. Then when you have the info go into each account and input whatever needs to be done. I know it's a pain but well worth it in the end. I spent over $2k on plane tix last April to Disney and will do whatever I can to avoid that happening again. I think after like 2-3 trips as a family you will have enough for a free flight. Pretty easy actually. In fact coming back last trip we voluntarily gave up our 12:30pm seats to basically fly same non-stop at 4:30 and got 4 free RT tix to anywhere in the US. It was like hitting the lottery for $2k. So now this April we will go back for free, and the year after we will go to DL in Cali and use the rewards free trip for that.

I thought a person had to be 18 to obtain a FF number and earn miles at any of the airlines...is that not the case?

No age limit on AirTran. I signed up my DGS when he was 2. I can't speak for other airlines, though. Make sure when you book the tickets online that you're signed into your A+ account. Then when you get to the part where you list the passengers' name you can put their number in the box to the right of their name. Each person gets credit for their flight only. You can't put them all on one person's account.

Thanks for this info, I don't know why I thought the airlines would give FF numbers to kids, but I did. Was able to get DD13s past credits into a Southwest account for her as well as JetBlue. Signed up for Airtran but having trouble with their site.
