forgive me if this has already been covered in another thread, but I have a question regarding the Airtran $25 coupon. We leave for WDW on Thursday the 23rd. Unfortunately, I booked my airfare, and bought $6 seat assignments before the coupon came out:headache::headache::headache:.
I just checked my itinerary and see that the exit row seats are available for $20/each. My question is can I go in now and upgrade to the exit row seats and use the $25 coupons to offset the cost??? And if I can, can I take care of both round trip flights, or can I only take care of one direction? And finally, are there any rules against an 11year old or a 14 year old in the Exit aisle??

Years ago I though kids in exit rows were not allowed, but now that you can buy the seats online I am assuming these rules don't exist anymore:confused3:confused3:confused3. The kids would not be paired up in a row by themselves. My 11 yr old son would sit with me and my 14 yr old daughter would be in the row behind with my daughter. Any help would be appreciated!!!!!

Persons under age 15 may not sit in exit row seats. This is an FAA rule.

I've been on flights where the attendants also refused to let the parents sit in an exit row seat while their children sat in another row. The reason given was that the people in the exit seats are required to concentrate on getting the door open and helping others out. If their children are not seated with them, the parents would likely be distracted from the exit row duties by the desire to look after their children.

I know that they will not allow you to sit in the exit row unless you are physically able to open the exit door (so no kids under 15 or elderly). And because it is such a big responsibility that I wouldn't want to sit there.

About the $25 coupon question - we are in the same boat. I booked Airtran and also booked the $6/person seat assignments before the coupon came out. I called them and was told I would have to write an e-mail to customer service asking about using the coupon after I had already booked and paid for the tickets. Well long story short - no go. They will not honor the coupon once you have booked your tickets and paid for them. Sorry for the bad news. :sad2:

Will they accept the coupons for an upgrade to business class? It would only pay part of the upgrade since you can use only one voucher per person.
