Airtrain/Southwest boarding pass questions

Ok - here's what we're contemplating - taking Southwest from Norfolk VA to Orlando, then returning on Airtran to Newport News VA. The reason we'd like to take Southwest down is that we can get there earlier on a nonstop flight than if we took the Airtran nonstop (about 2 hours difference). We're not 100% against taking Airtran roundtrip. Here are my questions:

1. So, I think I would need to print my boarding pass for Airtran within 24 hours of the return flight and I was wondering if I could do that at a resort because we are not renting a car (staying at POP), or if there is somewhere else convenient that we could take care of that.

2. If we do choose to take Airtran roundtrip, can we print both the departing and returning flight boarding passes at the same time (before we leave for our trip) or do we still have the hassle of finding somewhere to get the return flight passes printed.

Any other hints/tips/ideas would be appreciated. Thanks so much!

AirTran lets you print out boarding passes 24 hours before your flight. They will not allow you to print out the boarding passes for the return flight before then. I understand that people using the Magical Express can get their boarding passes printed at their Disney resort. I'm sure others will know for sure.

Just go to your resorts Lobby Concierge desk. They can print out any airlines boarding pass as long as they have an internet check in web site.

They sure do! Lobby Concierge is the terminology that replaced "Guest Services." It's the place where you buy your tickets, book dining, and other various stuff including boarding passes. :)

Tyler - thanks for the info - we'll be staying at CBR next week and I thought we would be out of luck printing out SW boarding passes and would have to wait until we got to check-in.

Thanks so much for the info. We have gone ahead and booked SW down and AT back. Extra 2 hrs of vacation!!! Good to know we can get those boarding passes printed at the resort. Thanks again!

Tyler are the CM at the lobby concierge desk allowed to accept tips? Normally printing BP is a service that guests would tip for.

Just a word of warning. This past weekend our party was flying home from SNA via Delta and NWA. We flew in via SWA. A member of our party was "selected" for a special search at the airport. It seems that one way tickets are prone to those SSSS codes.

When we went in May we flew SWA. On our return flight we had our laptop but no printer. We checked in online and when we got to MCO the curbside check-in guys printed out our pasees. It saved about 45 minutes in line as we were checking luggage also. We will be doing this again in September, I was a big ATA fan but when they stopped flying to Orlando from Chicago Midway we switched. I am begining to really like SW.

Pinnie, all 3 members of our party got selected for what we called "the extra special search" after USAir switched us to Delta because we missed our connection due to our first flight being delayed because of some bozo hiding the boxcutters on the airplane - yeah - remember that day! They made DS3 stand with his feet on footprints and hold his arms out. It was actually kindof cute - I'd have taken a picture if my camera hadn't been laid out on the table with all of my other carry-on items. Not a big deal since we had plenty of time to wait before our flight.
