Just about to book with VH, when I got hold of an Airtours brouchure. We reallywant to stay at the Contemporary and virgin have been the only company I know who book this hotel - until I found it in the airtours brochure!!!

Basic price with Airtours = 3614 (don't think this includes a car)
Basic price with VH = 5153

Has anyone had experiences with Airtours (the flight is with mytravel !!!!)

we went with Airtours about 4 years ago and never had a problem with them but 4 years is along time :)

That is quite a difference in price, it would be enough to make me go with Airtours.

Have you priced just a flydrive with Virgin & then booking hotel and car separately? This could same some ££'s especially with current exchange rate.

Only used Airtours years ago - find most flights are much of a muchness!! Although we were delayed for 8 hours & they gave wrong directions to the hotel on the driving instructions - but don't let this put you off:lmao:

Hi,
we've flown with Mytravel twice now and are using them again in 12 days:banana: . We've never had any problems, flights on time, clean planes and seatback TV's.
That's a big difference in price and would pay for your park tickets and car hire if it's not included :) .

would go for the cheapest option myself, were flying with mytravel on the 17th.Small world gaynor were up the hill in tyldesley

I would price up a fly drive and booking to hotel seperately, that way you can use codes to bring the cost of the hotel down if any come out.

Never had any problems with Airtours myself either. I agree with Mrs Doubtfire that flights are much of a muchness. It's a big differene in price so I would double check what's included and if its just the car then I would go with Airtours. :)

Hi Kev,

That is a big difference in price - I would say worth going with Airtours - car hire doesn't cost that much. You could probably even upgrade to their equivalent of Premium Economy and still save ££££ :goodvibes

we've flown with airtours for the past 5 years and never had a problem. We do always book premium economy though. I personaly prefer airtours to virgin. This year were flying thomsonfly as they're departing from doncaster which is much closer for us.

we are just back (last week) after flying with MY Travel and I can't praise them enough. we upgraded to PG I have to say. Our son has special needs and the cabin crew were brilliant. flight left on time, arrived early boarded early on the way and left early got into Glasgow an hour early.

Can anyone give a quick verdict on MyTravel's premium cabin versus Virgin's Premium Economy?

Thanks!!:yay:

Kev - are you planning on doing lots of things outside of the Disney parks, because you really don't need a car if not. Disney transportation is fabulous - (especially at a mono-rail resort). We did it at POFQ at Easter without a car. Not thinking about driving actually makes the holiday for me. Used Tiffany Town Car; (via Internet, easy peasy!) for transfers from airport and return and also a day at Sea World. We weren't venturing away from Disney more than this though. I'm not a big fan of Universal. (Well not until the Harry Potter stuff arrives anyway :thumbsup2

Sorry - can't remember who asked about Premium Economy but we did this on Virgin, return journey only at Easter. Bumped up holiday price by £800. IT WAS SO NOT worth it!!! Yes we had a bit more leg room; yes the food was a bit better and not in disposable trays; yes we could have drunk ouselves silly but we have kids so can't anyway. I could see First Class from where I sat and frankly, if money was no object I'd do it. As for PE, they're never getting my money again. Upgrading to a Deluxe resort would have been a much better way to spend our £'sss. Our flight was still delayed.

Given the diffrence in price I think I would book with Airtours :) Even if you had to hire a car separately it looks like you'd still be saving in excess of £1000.

I would just double check the details of both to make sure I was comparing like with like.

It's the same resort! Only difference I can see is airline (and therefore no downtown check-in etc.) I can forget the china for cardboard boxes !!!! I dont think it'll ruin the flight!

Double checking, the airtours price includes a car too - just working out best way of booking tickets etc. before booking, but looks like we're going!!!!!

we always fly premier gold wth airtours, its £179.99 return extra. One time there was no flights so we went with virgin economy, because we couldnt afford the extra for virgin premium (it was £249.99 extra each way) we sneaked a look in premium economy wjilst on the flight. apart from an extra inch of legroom there was NO DIFFERENCE between airtours and virgin. they cant justify the extra charge in my opinion. Its more to upgrade 1 way on virgin that return is with airtours.
