Flying from the east coast, which airport is the best or closes to fly into if we are only doing DL?

We found a flight from Newark to John Wayne. We flew into LAX the last two times (ACK). The traffic made the BQE look like a an actual highway.

Thanks! I was thinking John Wayne but wasn't sure. I think Delta has a direct flight from Atl.

Fly into whatever offers a significantly cheaper fare. There have been times when the fare difference was $200 per person round trip by picking a particular airport. That's not chump change. We're talking about $800 for a family of 4. So check the fares at all the LA area airports. Sometimes, there is a deal at one that there isn't at the others. Other times, there is no difference. And whichever is cheapest is not always the same. Sometimes it's Orange County. Sometimes it's LAX. Sometimes it's one of the others.

If none are significantly cheaper than the others, I would fly into Orange County.

we flew from philly to lax....the flight times and $$ worked out best for us there.

We are flying Philly to John Wayne but are connecting both ways. I heard the traffic is better and it is a smaller airport then LAX.

I flewout of Logan and into into Long Beach and doing the same this year, I can't remember how long it took, why 15 20 minutes sticks in my head but it was EASY EASY EASY. I am first going more southerern CA but still flying into long beach because DL is going to be my last stop before I go to Vegas so that is how much I like it

For us (leaving from DC) the only possible direct flights were to LAX and they were also the cheapest. . . plus even factoring in traffic and whatnot, having a direct flight means we get in a lot earlier and have a shorter trip (no wasting time sitting around another airport).

I am from the east coast wnd we take Jet Blue non stop to Long Beach. It is a straight shot from Long Beach to DL, about 20 minutes. My flights have always been under $300 in the past 3 years.
If you have Jet Blue at your airport, that is the way to go.

Know Ontario is further than SNA; is it an easier drive than LAX?

Love John Wayne airport here too and the employees there are the nicest and most amazing! They are courteous and really seem to have things together. As frequent travellers with a 2 year old, it really stands out.

Another vote for John Wayne here. Have flown ATL to John Wayne several times, and only gone to LAX once. Never again! Prices right now for my end of June trip are about $500 round trip, but the flights I want still have over 100 seats available. I'm holding out, hoping they go down.

Anyway, John Wayne is great. Smaller, convenient, friendly, can't miss. :)

I think the distance to DLR from ONT or LAX is comparable. I couldn't say if either drive is easier. Given the choice (assuming $$ and flight times were comparable), I'd go with ONT due to it's much smaller size.

Still, SNA would be my first choice, with Long Beach 2nd.

I'm imploring a little help also from a mid-westerner...there is a new value airline (Skybus) that flies directly from Columbus OH to Burbank. Is this a decent airport and how far is it to Disneyland? Is there transportation available? Thanks so much for your help. We are WDW experts but need to gather info. for DL. Thank you !!!

No problem Burbank to DLR - and the entire L.A. metro area is set up to cater to tourists, taxis and shuttles await you right out the door.
